Those dreaded cards...cards for men/ boys!

I was recently asked to make some cards for
some males... music, sport & graduation.

First up, is the music card...for Lewis.
I decoupaged the ipod and used glossy accents on the window and button.
The music and the microphone were images on my pc that I have had for ages.
The backing paper is a sticky paper that I love...bought it
years ago, in Paperchase.
It's covered in music stuff...drawings of guitars, hifis, stereos, headphones, allsorts!
A bit of dry embossing round the edges finished this.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Make it Monday - 151 - anything goes (ends 4th August)

 Good ol' wrapping paper again!
Can't believe I have only just thought of buying it to use on my cards!
Think this one cost me 20p for the sheet...and I could prob make about 10 cards from it!
I backed all the pieces on card to give them more strength, then decoupaged the balls,
so that they stand out from the page.
I twiddled about on the pc to make the sentiment on the blue square.
I'm quite pleased with this one!

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...
Pile it on - 30 - anything goes (ends 3rd August)

Finally, this one was made using some of my pc images, and backing paper.
I decoupaged the scroll and balloon
and tried to make sure the sentiment looked like it could be handwriting.
I was asked to add something to do with music.. and as a final thing,
I popped on a brad in the shape of a camera.

Birthday cards for Mum and Dad

I made cards for both Mum and Dad recently, for their birthdays...

This first one is for Dad.
He loves his sweets... esp the retro ones.
I fell in love with these images when I found them on a piece of wrapping paper!
Infact, I got about 40 images on the wrapping paper...
all jars of sweets, inc: wine gums, humbugs, mint imperials,
aniseed balls, sherbet lemons, parma violets...  all with glitter here n there!
I used my new bargain punch (£1 at a boot sale)
to make the shelves..and used a  (candy-striped) DCWV paper for backing.
I decoupaged some of the tags / labels and added glossy accents to some
of the sweets.
Dad loved it!  x

Craftin desert divas - 11 - birthdays (ends 4th August)

Mum loves her kitchen and all things american...
and I knew as soon as I saw this image - that she would love it.
I have had it quite a while...think I got it on PC Crafter website.
I decoupaged lots of the bits on the shelf and added some glossy accents to some.
I found a poem that I thought she would like, too.
A bit of red ribbon down the side, and
backed on red gingham... it went down a treat!

Birthday girls (comissions)

I was asked for two cards...one for a real pink / purple girly girl,
and the other for a girl... but not girlie colours.

This was the pink / purple one.
I used a docrafts paper and decoupaged some of the images,
using glitter on some parts too.
I made the sentiment in publisher, then diecut the shape on my bigshot.
A couple of martha stewart butterflies, a ribbon and a bit of embossing round the edge,
finished this card off.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...

Again, I used a docrafts paper, with a pink petticoat image and my own sentiment.
I added fanciful flourish swirls behind the image, some gems on the chandelier, a bit of
embossing and a narrow piece of red ribbon to finish the card.

It's Wedding season!

I have had a few wedding commissions recently...

I was asked to make a card with the wedding colours...silver and fushia pink.
I think the image is stampin bella...but don't quote me on that.
(I found this one image in my stash as I was searching through.)
Sentiments printed directly onto card.
Embossed hearts background done on my bigshot.
Coloured in in promarkers.
Silver ribbon leftover from a box of chocs, I think!
Martha Stewart punched butterflies.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...
Crafting with dragonflies - 7 - wedding card (ends 7th August)
Di's digi stamp challenge - wedding/anniversary/congrats (ends 3rd August)

I was asked to make this card (and the one below) on July 4th...
the wedding was on July 5th! Lol!
I designed a sentiment, cut it on my bigshot, printed out a paper from
"funky fairies" - sadly, no longer online.
Added a couple of MS butterflies and a little heart buckle and ribbon.
(Had just bought the buckle the day before... never used one before, but loved the look of this.)
Inked and embossed round the edge of the purple paper, to finish.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...
Paper playtime - 15 - use patterned paper (ends 4th August)
Eclectic ellapu -shades of purple, with butterfly. (ends 28th July)
Opus Gluei - 161- weddings (ends 28th July)

Yet another docrafts paper was used for the backing of this card..
I like the confetti look of the paper.
I drew and cut the main shape myself..and printed the sentiment
and pink petticoat image directly onto it.
I edged the shape with yellow chalk
and another little heart buckle, threaded with ribbon.
Woodware punched butterflies in gold, finish off this card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...
Glitter n sparkle - 42 - weddings (ends 28th July)
