Penguin

At The Colour Crazy Challenge this week,
we are being sponsored by Bugaboo.
I got the gorgeous image: Winter penguin ski...

I popped him on a backing of snowy paper and a little hill I cut out (and glittered along  the top of it.) I coloured, using my alcohol markers - promarkers and spectrum noirs.  The sentiment is a vellum sentiment -  I bought a whole pack of them in The Works for £1 recently - a real bargain! Someone sent me the snowflakes a few years ago -  I can't remember if they were punched or diecut... but I glittered them! I finished this card with a double (dry) embossed square and some doodling around the edge.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Kitties in the window

At Patties Creations this month, Pattie's challenge is:
Christmas with animal(s).

I used 'Allie Winter Window' ...
we recently got two kittens - well, a mum cat and her kitten boy.
(She is only 18 months though.)
and I based these cats on our two.

I popped the image on 3d pads and added a diecut cat in the top window,
which I coloured (with promarkers) like our Chester.
The image comes with the bigger cat in the bottom window
(which I coloured to look like our Bella).
The little gingerbread garland came from a piece of christmas backing paper -
I fussy cut those out (And it took aaaages!)
The green garland is made up of lots of little punched ferns and I fussy cut some teeny hearts
and added some dovecrafts pearls effects berries.
I cut a tree and presents from backing paper and added these to the card -
along with a stamped sentiment.

I love this image and am going to give this card to my In-laws, for Christmas.

Christmas cards

I'm not on the team for this week's challenge at The Colour Crazy Challenge,
but when I found out that our sponsor was Knitty Kitty Designs, I knew I had to join in!
I was delighted to spot the image : Christmas Catflap.

I made 2 cards with this image: one for my Mum and Dad and one for my Hubby.
First up, is my Mum n Dad's card...

Believe it or not, the "snowy" backing paper is wrapping paper!
I couldn't find just what I needed in my stash, then my eyes fell on my wrapping paper rolls
and I found the perfect thing!
I fussy-cut the bunting - from a sheet of docrafts paper I have had for yonks.
The super-cute image was coloured with my alcohol markers,
and touches of nuvo glitter and glossy accents
were added, here n there.
I added a "6" on top of the door, for my Mum n Dad's house number and
a little bit of pavement in front of the house, so I could add the stamped sentiment.

Now for my Hubbys card...

Made in much the same way as the other card, I added a stamped and coloured
(and glittered!) mistletoe branch above the door and a banner along the bottom.
I added some extra lines on the door, to make it look a bit more
 like our own front door.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Cheers!

Dr Digi is the sponsor this time, over at the Colour Crazy challenge
(and our theme is anything goes, as usual).
I got this fab image called "Pint glass"
which I found perfect for a card for my Brother-in-law.

The backing paper comes from a pack I bought in a Pound shop (I think!) and
I dry embossed a line around the edges of this paper.
I stamped the "birthday" part of the sentiment and hand-wrote
the "happy " and "brother" parts.
(I made the LUKE label on the pc. )
The spotty paper comes from a DCWV pack.
I loved colouring this digi image with my alcohol pens...
it was quite quick and easy.

Gift time. (50)

At Patties Creations this month, Pattie has decided to have an "anything goes" challenge -
so you've no excuse mot to join in!
I used her image "gift time" to make a card for a man.

The image: a stack of presents, was lovely to colour.
I added a die-cut frame (on 3d foam), stars and balloon-numbers.
I got the sentiments for free from Desert Divas.
Embossing and inking the edge of the grey spotty card finished this card off.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Birthday princess

Today, I wanted to share a card with you, which
I made for the Colour Crazy Challenge - anything goes.
The sponsor this week is Moonflower...

I used the image "Gigi Princess."
She was beautiful to colour with my alcohol pens and white sakura pen.
Going through loads of my papers, I couldn't find any that I
was happy with, with this image. So,
I popped her on an embossed background and
added a simple, punched butterfly.

Halloween traditions

Over at Patties Creations this month, we are challenging you to create
something in the theme of "Autumn ' Halloween."

I chose the halloween theme and used
one of Patties newer images: caramel apples.

I coloured the image with my alcohol pens and quickly realised that that
was the only colour I wanted on the card. So I rifled through all my black / white / grey papers
and came up with these - from a Dovecraft set (I think).
I layered the papers, inking the edges  and matted the image in the middle.
The little bats, ghosts and moon are actually halloween confetti -
I just found it in my stash. (I completely forgot I had it!)
I may add a sentiment at some point...

Birthday

As usual, at The Colour Crazy Challenge blog, we
have the theme - anything goes!

I chose to use the image "Mouse Daisy" - which I won recently, from A Day for Daisies.
(I believe the shop is taking a break for now)
This is the first time I have used the image and it's really sweet.
I coloured the mouse and flower with my alcohol markers, and made the little spots on
Mouse's dress stand out, by popping on a teeny blob of liquid pearls on each spot.
The sentiment "birthday wishes" was a freebie from the "desert diva " blog
and I computer generated her name.
The number is some stickers I found recently when having a craft room tidy up!

I simply trimmed the image slightly smaller than the card
and dry embossed the edges.
I like the effect.

Hapbee birthday!

At Patties Creations this month we are challenging you to make a card with
"Things that fly."
I used Patties image cute little image called "honey bees."
(The image doesn't come with this many bees... i printed off a
few extra for my card - the beauty of digital stamps!)

The paper is from a pack I bought in the states about 5 years ago.
The "birthday is a new stamp I got -
and I hand-wrote the "Hap.." myself, sitting the bee
perfectly to finish the word.
I added the little spots behind the bees and some dry embossing
around the blue paper and faux stitching around the yellow paper.

Friday 2 August 2019

It's summer!

We had a real heatwave here,
just as I was making this card...

At Patties Creations this month, we are challenging you to use a
"beach / under the sea" theme.

I used the image called "beach time" which was wonderful to colour.
I really played with my alcohol pens and tried to get some texture in the sand,
using a pointilism technique.

I diecut the sentiment, after colouring various grades of blues.
I haven'y used this die before and I have had it for years!
The baking paper came from a papercraft pack that I've had for yonks, too.
I tried to make the image resemble an old polaroid picture.
The butterflies are from one of my favourite punches from
Martha Stewart.

Snow White

The theme this week at The Colour Crazy Vhallenge is,
as always, Anything Goes.

Th image I got to play with this time, is called Lilly Snow White
and is from Moonflower.
I coloured the image with my alcohol markers
and plopped some glossy accents onto the apple, for that shine.
The leaves and swirls are from diecuts and I
punched the little flowers and middles, and the butterflies.
I doodled a little on the flowers with white pen, to add something more.

Birthday cake for Dad

At  Patties Creations this month, we would like to to
include some "food / drink " on your project.

I used one of Patties newer images called
I know many, many people, who I could make a card for,
with this image on the front!
I decided to make this card for my Dad,
whose birthday is this week.
I made a rainbow cake for him, with icing and hundreds-and-thousands sprinkles on the top.
A little sign is stuck into the cake
and I used my new happy birthday die
(cut twice, once in black, once in white and layered over the top of "happy")
and made a little "Dad" sign with my (precious hearts) hanging bow and the letters of Dad dies.
The paper was a bargain pack I bought on the car boot sale last week
and I cut a patterned border with my fancy scissors.

Funnily enough, we went out for a meal at the weekend, with Dad,
and one of the cakes on the dessert menu, looked a LOT like this one!

Yoga

This week. over at the Colour Crazy Challenge,
our sponsor is: Little Blue Button stamps.
I used the image called 'Pose of an elongated triangle.'

I coloured this image with my promarker pens and fussy-cut it.
I embossed the edges of a dotty square and made her a little
yoga mat to work out on.
A simple background of  embossed stars
and a  hand-written "namaste" finished this card.

I am thinking of giving this card to a work colleague who loves yoga.

Wedding season.

Summer is almost here, and so is wedding season.
So,  Patties Creations would like you to share your "wedding" cards with us this month.

I used Pattie's image: wedding bands with ribbon.
I used my new gold/brown blend and dark red blend Tri-blend Spectrum noir pens.
3 pens in one - a great idea and super to work with.
The "congratulations" stamp is a new one too...
I bought it in a set on a car boot sale, for a few pence!
I think the embossing folder finishes this card well.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Pretty.

This week, over at the Colour Crazy challenge,
Ching Chou Kuik is sponsoring our "anything goes" challenge.
I used the image called "lucky clover."
(although I coloured the clovers, like they were flowers.)

The background paper is from Pink Petticoat - which is sadly no longer trading.
I dry embossed the edge of the image and the edge of the backing paper.
 I like this effect.
The sentiment was a freebie a loooooong time ago!
(I can't remember where from, sorry!)
I coloured the image with my alcohol pens and added a touch of liquid pearls, then a little diamond stickles glitter. She shimmers in the right light.

Pretty in pink.

For our challenge at the Colour Crazy Challenge this week,
our sponsor is Tiddlyinks.
As always - anything goes is the challenge.
The image is called "Bloom beautifully Emma"
and it comes as this image,
this image with a cute little girl
and the little girl on her own.
I chose just to use this part to make a card for a friend.

I coloured the image with my alcohol markers and added a computer generated sentiment.
The butterfly on the right was printed, fussy-cut and I used
3d foam on the back of the Wings to make it more 3D.
The backing paper came from my stash
and I inked and dry embossed the edges to finish.

The theme of our challenge this month is "birthdays."

This was a great image to colour with my promarkers and other alcohol pens.
I backed the image on a piece of patterned card

I used my promarkers and alcohol pens to colour the image,
stamped the tree branch and flowers
and added some teeny diecut flowers over the top.
I chalked a sky background on the tag and ran an embossing folder

I thought this image would work perfectly for a card for my friend's
little girl, who is turning 4 soon....

I glittered her name and age and the unicorns mane and tail.
The sentiment was done on the computer.
The backing paper was a freebie from a paper pack in a magazine, yonks ago.
I coloured the image with my alcohol markers.

The theme for our challenge at Patties Creations this month, is:
Babies, babies, babies!
I was so pleased to work with the "baby shoes" images...
you get to sets of shoes in the set...

Both cards were made in pretty much the same way...
Spotty and gingham card, inked around the edges.
The shoes were coloured with my promarkers.
I added a tag , on which I will put either a babies name, or maybe the word "welcome."
Hanging from the tag is a little star charm. I forgot I had these,
until I was rooting through some little draws and found them!

Polkadoodles is our sponsor this week, at the Colour Crazy Craft Challenge...
I used the super -cute image, "Winnie Celebrations 1" ...

I love the red / grey combo and decide that would be my colour scheme
for this card.
The patterns papers seemed to work well together
and I die-cut a fancy square to sit my stamped sentiment on.
I coloured the image with my alcohol markers.. and realised that I might need more,
as some are beginning to run out!
Some embosssed lines and edge inking finished off this card.

Valentines

Pattie has a new digi stamp in her shop ...
I snaffled this immediately, and used it to make a Valentines day
card for my Hubby.

Straight away, I decided that some of the hearts could be leaves...
so added a few stalks and coloured them (with my alcohol pens) as leaves.
I coloured the red hearts so that they would look chunky,
with a highlight.
The intricate heart inside the wreath, is cut from  die I just bought!
Such a bargain... it only cost £1.50 from The Works.
It cuts like a dream and I couldn't believe it
when it fit perfectly inside the image I had already coloured!
I cut it in the same colour as the card.

The word "love" is actually a beautifully cut piece of wood.
They were a bargain too...I think I got 25 in the pack, for £1!
Wish I could remember where I got them, as I would be tempted to get more.

I didn't want to put too much more onto this card, as it has been made for my hubby
and thought he wont want to too fussy or fancy.

Winter birthdays

As I was wrapping my presents this year,
I fell in love with the pattern on one of my wrapping papers..
ferns, pinecones, mistletoe: winter foliage.

I have a few birthdays to make cards for, in January,
and thought this would make the perfect backing for those cards.

First up: Hubby's Aunt's card...
A lovely friend of mine bought me the
'happy' and 'birthday' as a present.
I matted the paper and embossed a clean line around the edge.
I cut a few fancy corners out with my cuttlebug dies
A couple of punched butterflies and some glossy accents on the berries, finished this card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

and a different cuttlebug corner die.

Winter.

For our first challenge of the year
at Patties Creations, we are asking you to fit our colouring theme of :
"Snowy nights / days."

I have used one of Patties amazing digi-stamps, called "Snowman 1".

The little houses background, is actually from a piece of wrapping paper!
I found it in Home Bargains, for the measely sum of 59p for a whole roll! Bargain!
(and... I'm not going to use it to wrap presents! Lol.)
Teamed with the cute digi in the foreground, I think this makes a lovely card.
I coloured the snowman with my promarkers and
ran the swiss dots embossing folder though my bigshot.
The snowflakes are from a cuttlebug die, which I also cut on my bigshot.
The sentiment is one I have had for yonks on my pc.
