Anniversary

It's hubby's Mum n Dad's anniversary ...
and I made them this card,
as they love our cats.

The image is such a cutie! Its from "Dearie dolls".. a lady who designs digis in colour
and in black and white, and puts them free on her website.
Thankyou, Mary Ellen!
I love the characters she draws and the little scenes she makes with them.
Her cat ones are my faves, and I thought
this would be perfect for an anniversary card.
I also used a paper I got from the works - 99p for the pack,
some dovecraft paper flowers,
one of my bargain rolls of ribbon (4 rolls for 99p)
and a gorgeous precious hearts die cut.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...

Easter time

I thought it was about time I made a few Easter cards,
and so when the challenge of Easter cards came round at Glitter n Sparkle,
it was just the poke I needed!

I used the image "Easter Lily and cross" from Stitchy Bear.
I didn't think it needed much more on this card. I embossed the edge,
matted it on some colourful paper, added a sentiment from my pc, and a few MS
punched butterflies, cut from a slightly sparkly card.
I coloured the image with my promarkers.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges...

Shaped card

This weeks challenge, over at Glitter n Sparkle, is...
"make a shaped card"
which just happens to be what I made for
(mine and ) my sisters 40th birthday...

I played around for a long time, to make this K shape... for her name (Kathy)
I used the amazing image form "A Day for Daisies" ..Flower Maiden 1
and coloured her with my promarkers.
It just shows how versatile this image is...last week, I used it to make a mother's day card
and this week, I made her into twins!
I added my fave backing paper from Anna Marie...
the washed aqua and cream polka dot paper.
Inking the edges gave a softer feel,
while my diecut swirls and leaves were the perfect backdrop for the punched flowers
with diecut flower middles (from Memory Box), in blues and whites.
A couple of soft pink (punched) butterflies and a precious heart (from Memory Box)
finished this card.

It's my birthday!

And I have had a wonderful weekend!

Look at what I made yesterday -

How fab?!

Mum and Dad booked me, Mum and Kath (twin sis) and her daughter (Alisha)
onto a chocolate making course, as well as an
overnight night stay (with our hubbies too...all 8 of us)
in a very swanky, wonderful hotel.
I feel like I have been treated like a queen this weekend
and am so grateful to my family and friends
for making this big birthday so special.

Oh... I have to put this pic on too...
we got a cake each...

(I'm on the right hand side of both pics )
hahhah... how sweet were we?!
We even managed to "do the cake and prosecco"
at exactly the times that we were born - 10 mins apart!
xxx

I can't believe it!!!

I have made my first Christmas card!
I was inspired, when this weeks theme at Glitter n Sparkle, was...
'Glitter n Sparkle'
and I saw this image - 'reindeer' - from The East Wind.

Glitter n sparkle is sure hard to photograph!! lol...
I glittered.. the centre of the snowflakes,
the reindeer's antlers, the girls hat and gloves, the top of the sentiment and
the outside edge of the blue dotty card.
The border frame was already embossed, and from craftwork cards -
along with the sentiment.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...

Mothering Sunday

It's Mothering Sunday here, in England, on Sunday.
This is the card I made for my Mum...

The gorgeous image is from 'A Day For Daisies.'... a digi stamp company.
(I love this style of drawing...and the fact it's a digi stamp,
means I can size it to whatever size I like... and they take up no room in my craft room!)
It's just like me, when I was young!
(I coloured it with my promarkers)
I think my Mum will have a chuckle at this.
I based it all, on an apron shaped card that I cut out free-hand.
(including the pocket, which was inked around the edge and also, around the card - and pocket - I
drew some faux stitching, with my white sakura pen.)
Its hard to see in this photo, but the precious heart diecut is matt gold in colour.
The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat.
I finished the card with little ribbons threaded through each side.

CAS

Another of my all time favourite images , comes from 'A Day for Daisies' - again!
This one is called "flower maiden 1"
and is beautifully simplistic, which does not need a lot of colouring, I feel...

When I found this sentiment on my pc.... from files from long ago,
I knew that the image would be perfect, with it.
I printed the sentiment straight onto the card and added the image with 3d foam.
There is very little colouring on the image, but what I have done,
I used my promarkers for.
Finally, I added a tiny bit of sparkle on the flower centres.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges...

2 cards to share today...

The challenge over at Glitter n Sparkle this week, is to...
decorate the inside and outside of your card.

I usually leave the inside of my cards blank,
so this really was a challenge for me!
First up, is "Cynthia Fairy on birthday cake"
from The Stamping Boutique.
I coloured her with my promarkers and glittered her up - then
I fussy cut her out, with her cake and gave her a slight lift
with 3d foam, onto the embossed background.
I added a punched border, some of my bargain 99p-for-36-metres-ribbon
(from the 99p store)
and a pink petticoat sentiment ribbon which I made
by popping two sentiments close to each other along the length of my card strip.
On the inside. I stamped the present stack onto the insert and used
the colours from the front of the card, on the presents too.
I finished the inside off with a fine pink line
(where i will write my message to the birthday girl).
I have made this card for a little girl, whose birthday is next month.

I would like to enter this fairy card into the following challenges...
Fairytale stamper - anything goes - 22 March
Scribble and scrap - anything goes - 14 March
Ribbon girls - birthday - 14 March
Catch the bug - anything goes - 14 March

In the pink - for a special (little) lady - 18 March
Pennys papercrafty - one for the girls - 10 March
Paper shelter - away with the fairies - 10 March
Simon says stamp - special lady / girly - 11 March

The second image is called "waiting for you" and it's from Ppinkydolls.
I coloured it with my watercolour pencils at first, but I wasn't  keen on it,
so I got my promarkers out and added a few more colours, here and there.
I cut out (with a stanley knife) each of the
4 little panes of glass in each window and cut the whole shape out
and 3d foamed it onto more white card, backed onto the pink
then onto the original white card.
I added a sentiment (I have had on my pc for ages,)
and thought it may work well for someone leaving for university.
I decorated the inside by printing another little heart flower pot (from the image)
and fussy cutting round it, and I simply stuck it onto the insert.
I did not want the inside to be too fussy, as the outside is fairly clean and simple.

Exciting news!

I have been invited to join the design team, for Patties Creations...  by Pattie herself!
I was thrilled to be asked, and jumped at the chance.
The first challenge I am designing for, is the March challenge... "use some green."
I used "tulips in vase" image, from Patties Creations...

I decided to use the fabulous image to make my Mother-In-Law
a Mother's Day card.
The backing paper is a fresh green, spotty paper,
with a leaf green embossed panel added at the bottom.
A lacy punched border and a length of green gingham ribbon lay along the side,
and I added a memory box die-cut cat (as she loves our cats)
and some Martha Stewart punched butterflies
with a teeny glittery memory box die-cut bird on top.
The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat....I love the font used.
I coloured the image with my promarkers and used a
little Glossy Accents on the vase.
I was really pleased with how this card came out.

S.A.T's are looming...

I love the image I got this week! It's from Ikes Art
and it's called "Back 2 school."
I knew it would be perfect for my niece (Alisha) as she is sitting her SAT's very soon...
and she looks very similar to the girl in the image!

I made this card for a girl I tutor every week... Niamh.
She also has a look of this girl!
I coloured it with my promarkers and mirage pens,
matted and layered with red, and script backing paper.
I added a memory box die cut black cat and a small diecut gold star at the bottom.
