An Easter card

The image I got for this week, is"Allie in Egg with Sentiment" from Patties Creations, for the challenge
over at Glitter n Sparkle.
When I saw this image, I thought my niece would like it, so used it on her Easter card.
I had to add the chick separately, as that wasn't a part of the image,
but I also wanted to add a chick because it was mentioned
in the sentiment.
I hand-cut and embossed the egg shape with hearts and added a brown organza ribbon.
The backing paper came from a set I bought in a £1 shop,.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges -

It's Spring!

I love the colours in this fresh, spring card.
I got the "Lovesick kitty" image from Eureka, over at Glitter n Sparkle.
So cute!
I used marianne dies (birdcage and bird)
and I hand-cut the heart.
I coloured the kitty with my promarkers and stamped some little easter eggs
which i got in a free set of stamps last year - it was on the front
of a magazine... can't remember which one, now.
The backing papers came from a set I bought in a pound shop a few years ago... I'm finally
getting round to using them! lol.

A shaped card

I got a fab little image this week, from Sassy Studios, for my weekly challenge over at the
Glitter n Sparkle blog...

...where we had to make a shaped card.
I struggled to come up with a suitable shape at first,
but then remembered the trusty old shape -"stack of presents" -
which I hand-cut and paper pieced.
I used some papers from docrafts, for the presents....
which I though, were quite patriotic colours of our uk flag.
Or, I guess, they could also be for the US flag...with the star aswell!
The star sentiment is from craftwork cards.
I used a selection of my promarkers
to colour the image, on the new card I bought last weekend at Sincerley yours craft show.
The card is super smooth - just right for my alcohol pens - and is 280gsm.
(Bought at Limetree craft stand at the show)

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...

Pearls and lace

This week, over at Glitter n Sparkle, the challenge
is to use pearls and lace...

Such a cute image...girl with bunny from bugaboo.
I used a  pink petticoat curly girlie sentiment,
and docrafts backing paper...it came as a freebie some time ago
in a pack,I think it was called pampered pets.
(The paper in that pack is lovely!)
I thought it was reminiscent of lace.
I added some lace look borders - punched, really
and little pearls...although the "pearls" around the image are liquid pearls.

A very true sentiment ;)

This week, I got this fun image from QKR Stampede...Cat n Dog.
I knew which sentiment I wanted with it, as soon as I saw it.
It took me aaaages to find a paper to go with it, that I thought "fitted".
I matted the backing paper (from DCWV),
coloured the image with promarkers,
and embossed a line around the edge of the backing paper.
You can't tell from this pic, but I added glossy accents on their eyes and noses.
I thought this card would be suitable for a cat or dog lover...either a male or female.

Well, I've not made a card with a cat on, for a good while...

So I thought I would change that, this week!

I got this image from Glitter n Sparkle, and knew how i would add the challenge part
for this week - "add some green".
The image is called cutie 12, from fitztown... coloured with promarkers.
The backing paper is from dovecrafts.
the bee is a penny black sticker

Thanks, teacher.

Yey! "Anything goes" is the challenge at Glitter n Sparkle this week -

I got this cute little pencil and girl image from Bugaboo.
Perfect, I thought, as I work in a school and often]get asked for a "thank-you teacher" card.
The bold lines of the image made me opt for strong, bold, bright colours.
The ABC is a rub-on I got yonks ago...part of a school set I bought, from a pound shop!
The crayon and paint palette stickers were also from that set.

Cards for a sad occasion...

Sadly, a colleague recently lost her Dad.
At work, I was asked for some cards to send their sympathies to her....

and the flowers are from dovecrafts too.
I made the sentiment in publisher on the pc.
The flourish is a marianne die.

A few challenge cards...

Over at Glitter n Sparkle this week, the challenge is to
"add a sentiment"... and I was lucky enough to get two images!

This first image was my fave - sooo cute! (Janessa and Kitty... from Digi Darla)
I tried to give her a really soft, subtle, gentle feel...
and so used my watercolour pencils.
I punched some flowers and butterflies
and die cut the flourish and the label shape in the middle...which I also embossed with my swiss dots.
As the image reminded me of my niece...
and her love of cats, the sentiment did too...  I have had it on the pc for a long time,
and never used it!
Because I didn't want to use a backing paper for this card,
I selected a pearlised card...I think you can just about see the sheen.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...
Crafty Catz - anything goes - 6 March
Daring cardmakers - sentimental - 7 March
Left of centre - die cuts - 13 March

This was the second image I got this week - Happy Lil Boy...from Digi Darla.
While the watercolour pencils were out, I used them for this image too...
think I need to pick up some more promarkers...I love using them - but only have about
20 of them...and never the colours I seem to want! :)
Maybe I will try copics... hmmm..
Anyway - I digress...
The backing papers are dovecafts papers
and I used my fancy scissors to cut that edge on the thin
stripey paper along the bottom border.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...

Card for a male - or a female!

As soon as I saw this image, I knew which "backing paper" I wanted to add to it...

Over at Glitter n Sparkle, this weeks challenge is "bright and funky colours."
It was difficult to make the image any brighter than I did, but I added a page from an old
AA map behind the image, and a green border...that is slightly pearlised.
I thought - if I was to make this again, I would seek out a page that would fit with where
the recipient lives or is moving to.
I added some jute twine to keep it quite neutral...so could be a card for a male or a female.
The sentiment comes from "pink petticoat".
The image is "atlas and globe" from Sentimental Susan.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges...

One for a man...

I made this recently, for a friend who is a head teacher...
Its half term at the o, and I think he could definitely do with a rest!

I used promarkers to colour this Bugaboo image
and tried to keep in with the colours of the childrens school uniform.
The backing paper is from a paper stack I bought last week at the range (for £2 !!)
I embossed the edge of the image - wanted to keep this card CAS.
The sentiment is from craftwork cards.

A friends daughters 18th

I was asked to make a card for a friends daughters birthday.
I saw a pic of the cake she is getting, and based the card on the cake.

The cake is fushia and black in colour...with a shoe on the top.
This shoe actually comes from a piece of wrapping paper!
I backed it on card to give it some strength.
The fushia papers are form pink petticoat - and are "bubblegum" colour.
The flowers are dovecraft blooms.
I generated the sentiment straight onto the card, with my pc.
A few gems and MS butterflies finished the card off.
My friend almost cried (with joy!) when she saw the card -
she was so impressed I had remembered what
the cake looked like, and made this in the same colours.
Phew!

I used my watercolour pencils to colour it subtley,
handcut the corners, inked and added "studs" with a brown pen.
The cacti is a digi image and the fab gingham papers came free with a magazine a loooong time ago!

Valentines...

This weeks challenge, over at Glitter n Sparkle, is...
"Use RED!"
a great challenge, so close to valentines day!

The image I got is this one...  from Bugaboo.
(The sentiment comes with the image too, I drew a little frame around it, too look like the letter has just been taken out of the envelope.)
I didn't want to make this too girly...
so used a backing paper from the docrafts "ahoy" papers.
I punched the hearts and added some faux stitching around them,
aswell as faux stitching around the edges.
Image coloured with promarkers.

Buttons...

Here's Jenna - from the Stamping Chef - who is the image on my "add buttons"
card for Glitter n Sparkle, this week.

I coloured her with promarkers
and watercolour pencils, added a docrafts flower, with a button centre,
a craftwork cards handbag sentiment -
and some little teeny digi images, to go with the sentiment...all about shopping!
Extra buttons in the corners finished this card,
along with the faux stitching around the edges of the card, backing paper and image.

Bling it up!

I'm not realy a "bling " person,
but over at Glitter n sparkle ... that is this weeks challenge -
and I hope I rose to the challenge! x

I got this cute rag doll with a quilt image from QKR Stampede
and immediately saw red gingham paper with it!
I used kraft card and embossed the edge.
I used a martha stewart punched lacy border along the bottom...and LOTS of bling!
(the gems in the senterof the hearts, the dolls dress is coloured with a red glittery pen,
the white border had a little glittery-blingy border just below the top,
with a teeny bling flower to the left hand side.
Oh, and there's a little red bling gem on each of the white flower centres.)
I finished off, with a little black faux stitching around the red gingham edge.
Also, 2 Martha Stewart punched butterflies...made with a slightly sparkly card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges....

I'm quite pleased with how this one came out...
this was a bit last minute.
I used a digi paper (which, I hope, resembles bubbles / water)
and this cute image from QKR Stampede.
I handcut the circles - and the matting around them...it took a while!
and free hand cut the little silver bubbles.
The image is coloured with a mix of watercolour pencils and promarkers....
I love using both.
Finally, I added a ribbon along the punched white border.
Again, it took me a while to choose this sentiment...

Something a bit different for me...

Over at Glitter n Sparkle this week,  the challenge is to use real or faux stitching.
I got this fab image to play with, from Sassy Studios...called Army Honey.

The backing papers are all digi papers I have had a loong time.
(The flower is digi too!)
I've never had the chance to use it before, but knew it would be just right for with this image.
The thing that took the longest about this card, was
deciding which sentiment I would have on it.
I knew it wasn't going to be a regular birthday card, and wanted
something a bit different...and to fit with the image.
The flower is decoupaged with a little glossy accents and
Sassy's helmet, vest and pants are paper pieced.
Her skin tones and boots coloured with promarkers and her
hair is coloured with watercolour pencils.
I drew on the faux stitching.

I would like to enter this into the following challneges...
