Orange and green

At Glitter n Sparkle this week, it's "anything goes" week...

I used the cute image "heart sunglasses girl" from Lemon Shortbread.
I used my promarkers and spectrum noirs to colour her.
The spotty backing paper was an off-cut and I inked the edges as well as
embossing a line down each side.
Also, the sentiment is stamped from one of my new bargain stamps... i got
5 in a pack, AND an embossing folder, for... 50p!
( from the first car boot sale of the year, which we attended last weekend)
I punched the orange flowers and used my white sakura pen
to give the a little more detail.

Love cats?

At Glitter n Sparkle blog this week, we got the challenge...
"Love is in the air..."
I got the lovely image "the cats whiskers" from All Dressed Up.

This image originally comes with the sentiment,
'looking good!'
but I needed to change that for another sentiment for this card.
(I just made my own in a text box, in publisher.)
I used a precious hearts diecut and the backing paper if from lawn fawn.
I made a little frame around the image, from the same paper as the backing paper.
I popped it up on 3d foam pads and inked all the edges.
The cute image was coloured with my promarkers.

Red and love

For the February challenge at Patties Creations, we  are challenging you to...
"use lots of red!"

I used 'candy hearts jar'
and knew I wanted to make this for my hubby.
That's why I used kraft card as a base.
The image was lovely to colour with my promarkers and spectrum noir pens.
I embossed a piece of kraft, then inked and
backed it on red.
I diecut the "love" and stamped "you."
The finishing touches were to emboss the edges and
add some doodles with a white sakura pen.
(The heart and the stitching around the edge.)

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

A shaped card

Glitter and Sparkles challenge this fortnight, is...
"anything but a square or rectangle card."

So, I made  a shaped card... fit for a friend's little girl
(well, she's not so little now! She's 10!)
Her name is Hannah - so I carefully created this H shaped card.

I used the lacy sunshine image - Rory Fae.
Colouring her with my promarkers and spectrum noir pens,
I sat her on the beam of the "H"
after I had covered the shape in paper and inked the edges.
I also added a a little, stamped "happy birthday"banner
(stamp sentiment and hashtag from lawn fawn.)
and some diecuts - the bow and the hanging "10"
The butterflies are punched with my Martha Stewart punch.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Gold and silver

Glitter and sparkle have a great challenge to
link up with, this fortnight...
"use gold and silver."

I had real fun with the Kenny K image - Vikki Lee Vicious...

With the new alcohol markers I got for Christmas,
I coloured her with mainly gold and silver tones.
I experimented with her hair - figuring, in that outfit,
she would have wild hair!

I finally got round to using the star die I bought in Canada, last Easter!
(Cutting it in gold and silver)
I also used a new embossing folder - also bought in Canada.
The sentiment was also from a new teeny set of alphabet
dies, which I bought recently, in Hobbycraft.
I ripped the edge of the spotty paper, to give it a bit of a"wild" look, too.
Vikki is on 3d foam, so pops from the card slightly.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Carousel horse

Our January challenge at Patties Creations has started!
We challenge you this month, to...
"use an animal image" on your card.

What a great first challenge of the year!
Here is my card:

I used "carousel horse"
and made it into a card for my Hubby's Aunt -
who is going to be 70 next week.
With my new promarkers and spectrum noir pens,
I experimented with the colours of the horse, and I think it seemed to work!

I used my new spellbinders die, which I cut on my bigshot,
and snipped off the top, so it replicated the saddle on the horse.
I inked the edges of the papers and added some tiny
white dots along the blue card,
with my white sakura pen.

I finished this card about 10 mins before Hubby's aunt
arrived to see us at our new house!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

2017: A new beginning...

Happy New Year!

I'm back with a card I made for our new challenge
at Glitter n Sparkle -
"new beginnings!"

I love A Day For Daisies and was thrilled when I knew they were our sponsor this week...

I used the image "dandelions in a mason jar."
and printed it alongside a sentiment which I typed.
I coloured this image carefully, as
I wanted the jar to look like glass.
I got a load of promarkers and spectrum noir pens for Christmas
from my Hubby, as I needed some new pens...
I love 'em!

So... I no have many more colours to use...some 'darks' and 'pastels' too,
as well as new flesh colours, which I was desperately in need of.
I used pastel beige and one of the pastel greys to
colour the dandelions.
The finishing touch on the mage was to add a shadow along the bottom.
I embossed around the image and
matted it on some paper and embossed around that piece too.

A touch of glamour dust around the inner frame and a
Martha Stewart punched butterfly
finished off this card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Christmas glitter!

So, the last challenge of the year has just started at Glitter n Sparkle..
"Christmas with glitter!"

I got this delightful image from BUGABOO.
Scarves hats and antlers have been glittered,
with my micro fine coloured glitters,
which i sprinkle after applying my glue pen to the little areas i want glittering.
It's a great way to only cover smaller areas and
to get it very precise!
I coloured the cats with my promarkers.
I added a freebie sentiment and also
the frostyville border which I diecut on my bigshot.
The backing paper is from a dovecrafts set of papers that I found
on offer last year, but hadn't got round to using yet.
The little stars are the leftover cutouts from the frostyville border.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges~

Anything goes!

It's the old favourite challenge this week, at Glitter n Sparkle blog..
"anything goes!"

I used Polkadoodles "burger" image as I can think
of a few men that this would be a great card for!

I coloured the image in, with my promarkers,
fussy cut around it and 3d foamed it to give some depth from the card,
The sentiment was printed onto the card
and I popped some backing paper behind, a bit like a napkin.

This was a really fun image to colour!

Back to the Glitter n Sparkle blog...

So, I have got enough unpacked now to join back with the
Glitter n Sparkle blog challenge,
which is "traditional christmas colours" this week.

I used the image "butterfly wings" from Crafts and Me.
It was lovely to colour with my promarkers.
I cut the edge with my frostyville border and added some golden glitter.
I bought new holly die in Hobbycraft yesterday,
so used that in the corners.
A simple stamped sentiment finished the card.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:
Christmas cards all year round - atg christmas - 1 Jan
Crafters cafe - christas - 14 Dec

Candy cane heart

At Patties Creations this month, the new challenge is:
"anything goes - christmas or winter."
I used Patties image "candy cane heart."

I fussy-cut the image and coloured with my promarkers.
I hand-drew the little branch, as I knew that's what I wanted -
but I don't have a branch stamp or die.

I embossed the edge of the white and backed it all
onto the candycane paper - again, I embossed and inked that around the edges too.
I added a sentiment done on the pc
and used some glitter-dust on the whites of the candy canes and the
tops of the branches.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I'm back!

Well, hello!

Long time, no blog...

Such a lot has been happening with us these last few months -
feels like we have been in the middle of a whirlwind!

To cut a long story short, we have moved house.
 For many reasons.
It has been a very stressful time.
BUT... we are now so much happier!
We are at the point where we feel like we are now home,
and our 2 cats have just started playing out - and LOVING the new back garden!

AND I have been able to make a card!
Finally!
Yey!
I really enjoyed it - although the craft stuff is not totally unpacked yet...
I still have ...um... 10 underbed boxes left to unpack in here!

But I have got enough stuff out to start creating again.
Happy.  :)

(AND I have my very own little craft room,
which I don't need to share with anything / anyone else.)

So - here goes. The first card I have made in our new place..

This is for Patties Creations November challenge - "Birthdays"

The lovely image is called "black eyed susans"
and I just love the simplicity and delicacy of this image.
I coloured it carefully, with my promarkers and popped it on foam pads
(after fussy cutting around it).
The frame behind the flower is diecut and embossed
and the sentiment was a freebie I found at Desert Divas.

Back to school - summer's over!

So...
This one's a bit different...
a bit unexpected.

At Patties Creations this month,
the challenge is, 'back to school.'

I had a think  - and as I work in a school
I thought I would make a card for one of my colleagues.
I thought this might cheer her up a bit, on the first day back!

I used Patties image: Tropical drink with umbrellas
I coloured it with my promarkers
and made some teeny bunting, by hand-cutting some
tiny triangles, and inking the edges.
The image has been backed onto a fab summery paper, from a
Lawn Fawn 6 x 6 paper pack.
The spotty papers are from the same pack.

Just stamping

This week, I made this card for a friends birthday.

Because of what I have available to me at the minute,
I only used stamping and colouring on this card,

I used a stamp from "little claires"
and the sentiment came from a freebie set on a magazine,
a few years ago.
I masked and stamped the flowers all round the edges of the card
and coloured them with my promarkers.
The sentiment was stamped onto a  separate piece of card
and I added some Martha Stewart punched butterflies.

I hope she likes this card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

11 years ago today...

I married the love of my life...

and not a day passes when I am not thankful
that we found each other.

I made him this card ...

I tried to keep it quite masculine, but with
a romantic / anniversary feel.
Again, this was made with the paper pack I have
been using from The Works.
I diecut the "love"
and stamped the sentiment underneath the diecut.
The edges were inked, embossed and faux stitched.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Still trying to tempt in the summer....

Hmm.. I'm not so sure!
We have had the odd hot day, with sun, but then within 24 hours, rain,
thunder and even hail!
So... I thought I would try and help myself into the summer mood,
with this months card for Patties Creations challenge...

Pattie is challenging you to make a card for the old favourite challenge:
"anything goes!"

I chose her image called "flip flop trio".

I knew instantly, what I wanted this card to look like -
and the paper I was going to use.
(I have a real thing at the moment, for stripey paper!)

After printing off the image,
I coloured it using my promarkers,
in similar colours to the backing paper.
I inked the edges of everything
and embossed a couple of lines across
the long white edges.
I wanted to keep this card CAS and so
added a simple (freebie) sentiment form desert divas.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

anniversary 2

So, here is another one of
the anniversary cards I have recently made.

This one is for some special friends.

The paper came from the same paper pack as last time,
(The Works, 99p)
and the stamp "always have" is from a lovely pack I bought in Hobby Lobby
when we visited, over Easter.
A very lovely friend - Helen - bought
the gorgeous "love" die for me, for my birthday.
(and the little stars are the punchouts from my "frostyville die -
that I must have cut a few years ago, but
I can't throw anything away "that might come in useful!!")
A little embossing, inking and faux stitching around the edge, finished off this card!

Anniversary time...

I'm still here!

I know I haven't been around much lately...
we are in the middle of a hectic, but exciting time.
Don't want to jinx anything, but will let you know when
we are a few steps further ahead with our plans...

I have been able to get back to a little crafty time -
and oh, how I have enjoyed myself!

I made this card for my Mum and Dads
anniversary, coming up next week.
I *think* they have been married 45 years...
so wrote about that on the inside, but wasn't quite
sure enough - so didn't put it on the front.

At the moment, I am working with limited supplies,
but created this clean and simple card.
Infact, I love the paper pack this came from
(The Works, 99p per pack - 6 x 6 papers)
and have created 3 anniversary cards from that pack, which I
will be sharing with you over the next week or two.

So, this card was made with one paper, one stamp,
and 2 diecuts.
A little glossy accents picks out each of the hears on
the paper background, but it's hard to see on the picture.

I would like to enter some challenges with this card...

Seagulls...summer?

At Patties Creations this month,
 we would like you to...

"make a splash! - include water in your image "

I used Patties gorgeous image,
Seagulls Roost
and thought this would be perfect for a fathers day card
for my father-in-law, as he loves holidaying at the seaside.

I coloured the image with my promarkers and
layered lots of colours, to give depth and a realistic feel.
The seagull in the middle, I decoupaged.
I did a little inking on the sky, to age the image a little
and mounted it all onto a woodgrain effect embossed piece.

I would like to enter this  into the following challenges:
