Oh, I forgot to show you... DEFINATELY the last blog of 2012!

Lol....
I forgot, I wanted to show these....

Tree decorations I made!

I made mainly Rudolphs...
I took them to a school christmas fair and they "flew" out!!  lol

I made some a little different... with a little ribbon bow and bell....and also sold some of those too!
(They're made from coloured candle bulbs!!!
I'm afraid they don't photograph too well. They look much better in real life!!)

Last post of the year

I can hardly keep up with the days,
and just thought I would show some of the christmas cards I have been making.

As you can see, the grand madison window featured in a lot of this years christmas cards!
I also used the lovely house and trees on the hill die, along with the frostyville border.

This card was a comission...I was asked for a card,
for ..."Alexis and Guy - they're having their first christmas together in their first home together,
in London. Can you incorporate all of that?!"

Well...that's the card I cam up with - and she loved it!!!  Phew!

I will try and blog a bit more regularly next year...but who knows?!
Hope you have a lovely evening to see the new year in... Happy New Year!

A new month

Recently, we have celebrated my Grandmas 90th birthday....

I made both the card  and flowers for her...

I know my Grandma loves a verse on / in a card, so did that for her...
the beginning of the verse is on the front and the rest is inside -
but I forgot to take a picture of the inside! duh!!
I used my madison window die, and marianne bird on a branch die.
Hubby "encaustic-ed" them for me.
Some little punched gold butterflies to finish.

For my Mums birthday - in summer - I made her some flowers like these...
and Grandma loved them, so I thought I would make her some for her too.
They are a form of origami I suposse, because each petal of each flower is folded, very precisely.
Then 5 petals are put together to form a flower.
These took a VERY long time to make, but they were worth it when I saw her face!

I tried to keep in with Grandmas very neutral colour-scheme, but found I just
had to add a bit of colour here and there, as they are flowers, afterall!
I diecut some butterflies and added one or two on petals, and on the "stalks".
The flowers are held held in in oasis, which has been covered with that little gold gravel stuff.
I had to "arrange" it so that the gravel doesn't fall out,
as the cats often go nosying around and knocking things off, lol!!

Wedding commissions...

Some more from the wedding commission...

The Bride had some poems, that she wanted me to put on an "invite style" card.
This first one was for her Mum.
I kept to the wedding colour-scheme and she wanted butterflies on all of these too.

This one was for the Father of the Bride,
so I tried to make it less feminine. It was difficult!
(and she still wanted butterflies... but that's fine...I LOVE  butterflies!)

This photo hasn't turned out very well,  it is so lovely in real life!
The Bride gave this to her daughter,
and to my delight and surprise, a few days after the wedding,
the Bride uploaded a photo of her daughter receiving this...
with a massive smile!!
Then another photo was posted, of her daughter ,
walking down the aisle in front of her Mum...
holding this with her posy.

That was so lovely for me to see!

I drew the shape myself, cut the chipboard,
covered it - front and back - with "funky fairies" paper,
(Sadly, this internet site no longer exists!)
which I printed the poem onto. I added a bit of "bling" with the sparkly gems
and some little silver gems on the punched butterflies.

The Bride and her daughter were thrilled with this... which thrilled me!

It's twins!

Thought I would show you a commission I had recently...

One evening the other week, I got a text...
" Hiya!! Can you make ame a twin boys card...for tomorrow?!  thanks!!"
Ermm... OK!
I got the names of the new babies, siblings and parents, and whipped up this cute card.
It was so well recieved, that they decided
to buy a frame to put it in, in the babies room!
How lovely!!
xx  ;)

Sunday 21 October 2012

A few today.

I realised I haven't put anything on my blog for far too long!

So, I thought I would start with this one...
I was asked..by a colleague, to make this card for a lady who is about to retire.
My Hubby swished over the bird and branch, with his wax on an iron (encaustic art)
and I finished it with my new memory box teeny flowers, (which I have had for a good
few weeks, and not used yet!!) which I cut in blue and white.
The window, shutters and window-box are all memory box dies too.
For the embossed bricks, I used my papermania embossing folder, and inked round the edges.

I am  entering this card into the following challenges...
HIMCR68 - die cuts (ends 26/10/12)
Creative Card Crew - birds
Top tip Tuesday - things with wings (ends 23/10.12)

This one was one of the more simple ones I made for the wedding commission.
I was asked to make a thank-you card for her wedding day beauty lady.
I embossed the edge, made my own sentiment in word,
added a butterfly and then a splash of stickles glitter to the eyeline and the make-up brush.
She loved this one!

I would like to enter this in the following challenge..
Through the craft room door -  anything goes. (ends 23/10/12)

As you may have guessed, this was also for the wedding... a thank-you for the best man.
I took this photo before I put on the "thank-you" sentiment, oops!
I used the wedding colours... and the colours of the best mans suit.
This went down well, too!

I will try and keep up with my blog a little more...
It's only another week till half term so I should have more time then.

Thanks for your comments...I really appreciate them!!!  xx

Monday 1 October 2012

A new month.

Thought I would share with you some of the cards from the order I had recently...

I wsa asked to make some handbag cards for the bridesmaids, using the wedding colours...
So here are the ones I made. The same ...but different!
I used pink petticoat papers..pretty doodles,
paper and fabric flowers (with the centre of the flower, being a heart brad ), butterflies, and I made my own little "thank you" tags!

This one is a silver colour... The photo didn't come out quite as I wanted it too.

And  this was the final handbag...pretty in pink!

Sunday 30 September 2012

Last day of the month already!!

...and I can't believe how quick it has whizzed by!!!

Since the last time I blogged, I have...
 been my sisters birth partner,
and watched my nephew Ethan, being brought into this world (amazing!!)

I have also had a card order for 21 cards for "thank-you" cards from a bride, to her bridal party.

And finally, our road was all over the news last week, when it flooded so badly
that they needed firefighters to come and help ppl out of their flooded homes, via dingy!!
I was there, watching, and couldn't believe this was happening here and now, where I live.

What a month!!!!

Anyway... thought I would make an effort to show you some cards I made...

Obviously, I made this card for Ethans birth, to my sister and her man.
They loved it.

Mum asked me to make a fairy card for my niece,
as she had finally become a "big sister"...she's 8 now.

...and of course, I made her one from us.
When we saw her at the end of the summer hols, she had on nanas apron, as a superhero cape
and my hubby made her a tie-on eye mask which she thoroughly enjoyed
decorating...so I thought it was quite fitting that
I made her a big sister superhero card!!

ps...she loved them... xxx

Just the one, tonight...

Just a quick one...

I made this card recently, for a friend...
something simple and quite quick, but quite effective.
Image has been decoupaged a little, and glossy accents here and there.
Matted, layered and added a butterfly to the top.

Thanks for looking and any comments!  xx

Monday 27 August 2012

I went to a craft show...

...on the weekend and bought some lovely lovely stuff!
Including these gorgeous frames!!!

These ones are embossed with flowers in the centre...

and these are embossed with hearts in the centre.

They are quite difficult to photograph! ;)
Anyway - the reason I have put thes eon is because last time I used them on  a card, loads of people asked me where i got them...
so I picked up a couple more sets than I wanted.
So, if you want to buy a pack of these (come in a pack , white, 8 of the same, but I guess I could do 4 and 4 or whatever...) from me, just email me!

I have been making some cards this week... just had no time to put any on here.
I started my christmas cards!!! yey!!!!!

Another window...

I just love that window frame!!

A little bit more CAS style....
I used Hubbys encaustic background, showing a field with a few blue foxgloves.
embossed round the edge,
a craftwork cards sentiment and punched butterflies.

I would like to enter this into the the challenges..
Cas-ual fridays - CAS style
The Paper Shelter - clean and simple
Party Time Tuesdays - garden delights.
(thanks for any comments you leave!)

Thankyou...

...to my docrafts buddy, Chris,
who has diecut some of her windows for me!!!

I have been considering buying this window die for a little while now,
but I really wanted to know what size it was and to make sure I could do plenty
with it, before I bought one.
Well, Chris cut a few for me, with shutters and window boxes.
I love em!!!
This top card is cream based, with a papermania embossing folder.
I made some "curtains," punched a few butterflies and added my bird on a branch.

Here's another...in white, this time. I made  a little blind for this window, which I rather like!
The leaves in the window box are made for a few branches from the bird-on-branch,
as I didn't have a decent sized leaf to work with the window box.

I would like to add this to the challenges...
Digi Doodle shop  - wings and things.
Totally papercrafts  -  frame it!  (mine isn't so obvious, but it's the "window frame!")
Challenge up your life - everything goes.
Charisma cardz  - flora and fauna

turquoise and bird collection

I'm loving the bird die and was having a play this weekend...with the free papers
that came with the pampered pets on the Docrafts mag, a while back.

I shaped and embossed the bottom of the card,
used my die to cut the main shape and carefully cut round that in another piece of white,
inked all edges in gold.
Finally I added the bird (new die) and punched butterflies.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges...
Dream Valley Challenges - die cuts and punches
Divas by Design -   for a female
Catered Crop -  white

This card isn't quite finished yet as I'm going to put
a sentiment on the bottom somewhere...just haven't found the right sentiment yet!
(you can't see so well on the pic, but I have embossed around the panel..
I think it "finishes" a card like this.)

This is not a great picture I'm afraid...
I used martha stewart borders top and bottom.
Also a sentiment stamp...though it looks blurry at the bottom, it's ok and
quite readable in real life.

Friday 10 August 2012

I love my new die.

Its so lovely...I have used it with pretty pinks and creams this time...

So, I made this card first, then sat looking at it, thinking....
"is there enough on it? "
and I couldn't decide.
Now though, seeing the photo, I like it...

But, a few hours ago, I thought it needed more.
So I added more....

 (close up)

But I think I like this one too.
Well, this is how it looks now!
I added some punched flowers. leaves and butterflies...
and the odd gem here and there!

Which do you like best?
xx

I am putting this in the challenges...
Digi Doodle Shop (things with wings)
In the Pink  (fifty shades of..pink)
Scrapbook sisters (things with wings)
Can you dig it (bird is the word)
The poodles parlour (use die cuts)

Summers Butterflies

I'm on a roll! ....

 A close-up of the card.

The full card...
I made this with a digi paper, and pc sentiment.
I added the punched flowers, matted the image and embossed a border
behind the image.
I'm going to add this one to the L.I.M challenge...
so I've entered two now! wow! go me  :)

I would also like to enter this in:
Scrapbook sisters  (wings and things)

Thursday 9 August 2012

Cor.. 2 blogposts in one day!

I got a new die, and...I love it!!

Its a marianne creatables die.
I think it's fab!!!
I cut this one out in black card, and embossed it.
The background was made a couple of days ago by my  lovely hubby...
It's "encaustic art" - which is wax painted on, with an iron!
I am hopeless at it, but Hubby is great at it...(luckily for me!)
I just added a few punched butterflies.

I am entering this into the :
That Craft Place - things with wings.

Thanks for any comments!

Blues and greens...

Im having another go at the L.I.M challenge...
2 weeks on the trot, now!

 A close-up of my card..

This is my card using "blues and greens"
as is the challenge this week.
I used a digi paper, and a stamp I have had forever,
with little silver gems here and ther and I punched the little black butterflies.
I added the sentiment on my pc,
and embossed round the edge of the image, leaving a little gap.
This looks so lovely in real life!
Thanks for any comments  xx

I would also like to entre this card in:
That craft place (things with wings)

New home cards

A new embossing folder... and an old stamp
(I'd forgotten I had it!!)

I made two similar cards with my new papermania embossing folder,
which looks like bricks.
I thought it would be perfect for a couple of new home...
 which I decided to make.
I forgot I had this stamp, and altered it a bit, to use it differently.. twice!
Each time, I coloured the image with my watercolour pencils.
xx
