Christmas glitter!

So, the last challenge of the year has just started at Glitter n Sparkle..
"Christmas with glitter!"

I got this delightful image from BUGABOO.
Scarves hats and antlers have been glittered,
with my micro fine coloured glitters,
which i sprinkle after applying my glue pen to the little areas i want glittering.
It's a great way to only cover smaller areas and
to get it very precise!
I coloured the cats with my promarkers.
I added a freebie sentiment and also
the frostyville border which I diecut on my bigshot.
The backing paper is from a dovecrafts set of papers that I found
on offer last year, but hadn't got round to using yet.
The little stars are the leftover cutouts from the frostyville border.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges~

Anything goes!

It's the old favourite challenge this week, at Glitter n Sparkle blog..
"anything goes!"

I used Polkadoodles "burger" image as I can think
of a few men that this would be a great card for!

I coloured the image in, with my promarkers,
fussy cut around it and 3d foamed it to give some depth from the card,
The sentiment was printed onto the card
and I popped some backing paper behind, a bit like a napkin.

This was a really fun image to colour!

Sunday 4 December 2016

Back to the Glitter n Sparkle blog...

So, I have got enough unpacked now to join back with the
Glitter n Sparkle blog challenge,
which is "traditional christmas colours" this week.

I used the image "butterfly wings" from Crafts and Me.
It was lovely to colour with my promarkers.
I cut the edge with my frostyville border and added some golden glitter.
I bought new holly die in Hobbycraft yesterday,
so used that in the corners.
A simple stamped sentiment finished the card.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:
Christmas cards all year round - atg christmas - 1 Jan
Crafters cafe - christas - 14 Dec
Creatalicious - atg traditional christmas colours - 14 Dec

Candy cane heart

At Patties Creations this month, the new challenge is:
"anything goes - christmas or winter."
I used Patties image "candy cane heart."

I fussy-cut the image and coloured with my promarkers.
I hand-drew the little branch, as I knew that's what I wanted -
but I don't have a branch stamp or die.

I embossed the edge of the white and backed it all
onto the candycane paper - again, I embossed and inked that around the edges too.
I added a sentiment done on the pc
and used some glitter-dust on the whites of the candy canes and the
tops of the branches.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Christmas card challenge - candy cane - 15 Dec
Christmas cards all year round - atg christmas - 1 Jan
Crafters Cafe - christnas - 14 Dec

I'm back!

Well, hello!

Long time, no blog...

Such a lot has been happening with us these last few months -
feels like we have been in the middle of a whirlwind!

To cut a long story short, we have moved house.
 For many reasons.
It has been a very stressful time.
BUT... we are now so much happier!
We are at the point where we feel like we are now home,
and our 2 cats have just started playing out - and LOVING the new back garden!

AND I have been able to make a card!
Finally!
Yey!
I really enjoyed it - although the craft stuff is not totally unpacked yet...
I still have ...um... 10 underbed boxes left to unpack in here!

But I have got enough stuff out to start creating again.
Happy.  :)

(AND I have my very own little craft room,
which I don't need to share with anything / anyone else.)

So - here goes. The first card I have made in our new place..

This is for Patties Creations November challenge - "Birthdays"

The lovely image is called "black eyed susans"
and I just love the simplicity and delicacy of this image.
I coloured it carefully, with my promarkers and popped it on foam pads
(after fussy cutting around it).
The frame behind the flower is diecut and embossed
and the sentiment was a freebie I found at Desert Divas.

Back to school - summer's over!

So...
This one's a bit different...
a bit unexpected.

At Patties Creations this month,
the challenge is, 'back to school.'

I had a think  - and as I work in a school
I thought I would make a card for one of my colleagues.
I thought this might cheer her up a bit, on the first day back!

I used Patties image: Tropical drink with umbrellas
I coloured it with my promarkers
and made some teeny bunting, by hand-cutting some
tiny triangles, and inking the edges.
The image has been backed onto a fab summery paper, from a
Lawn Fawn 6 x 6 paper pack.
The spotty papers are from the same pack.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Just stamping

This week, I made this card for a friends birthday.

Because of what I have available to me at the minute,
I only used stamping and colouring on this card,

I used a stamp from "little claires"
and the sentiment came from a freebie set on a magazine,
a few years ago.
I masked and stamped the flowers all round the edges of the card
and coloured them with my promarkers.
The sentiment was stamped onto a  separate piece of card
and I added some Martha Stewart punched butterflies.

I hope she likes this card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

11 years ago today...

I married the love of my life...

and not a day passes when I am not thankful
that we found each other.

I made him this card ...

I tried to keep it quite masculine, but with
a romantic / anniversary feel.
Again, this was made with the paper pack I have
been using from The Works.
I diecut the "love"
and stamped the sentiment underneath the diecut.
The edges were inked, embossed and faux stitched.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Creative cottage - for the men / boys - 19 Aug
Paper creator - keep it simple - 1 Sept

Friday 5 August 2016

Still trying to tempt in the summer....

Hmm.. I'm not so sure!
We have had the odd hot day, with sun, but then within 24 hours, rain,
thunder and even hail!
So... I thought I would try and help myself into the summer mood,
with this months card for Patties Creations challenge...

Pattie is challenging you to make a card for the old favourite challenge:
"anything goes!"

I chose her image called "flip flop trio".

I knew instantly, what I wanted this card to look like -
and the paper I was going to use.
(I have a real thing at the moment, for stripey paper!)

After printing off the image,
I coloured it using my promarkers,
in similar colours to the backing paper.
I inked the edges of everything
and embossed a couple of lines across
the long white edges.
I wanted to keep this card CAS and so
added a simple (freebie) sentiment form desert divas.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

anniversary 2

So, here is another one of
the anniversary cards I have recently made.

This one is for some special friends.

The paper came from the same paper pack as last time,
(The Works, 99p)
and the stamp "always have" is from a lovely pack I bought in Hobby Lobby
when we visited, over Easter.
A very lovely friend - Helen - bought
the gorgeous "love" die for me, for my birthday.
(and the little stars are the punchouts from my "frostyville die -
that I must have cut a few years ago, but
I can't throw anything away "that might come in useful!!")
A little embossing, inking and faux stitching around the edge, finished off this card!

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Anniversary time...

I'm still here!

I know I haven't been around much lately...
we are in the middle of a hectic, but exciting time.
Don't want to jinx anything, but will let you know when
we are a few steps further ahead with our plans...

I have been able to get back to a little crafty time -
and oh, how I have enjoyed myself!

I made this card for my Mum and Dads
anniversary, coming up next week.
I *think* they have been married 45 years...
so wrote about that on the inside, but wasn't quite
sure enough - so didn't put it on the front.

At the moment, I am working with limited supplies,
but created this clean and simple card.
Infact, I love the paper pack this came from
(The Works, 99p per pack - 6 x 6 papers)
and have created 3 anniversary cards from that pack, which I
will be sharing with you over the next week or two.

So, this card was made with one paper, one stamp,
and 2 diecuts.
A little glossy accents picks out each of the hears on
the paper background, but it's hard to see on the picture.

I would like to enter some challenges with this card...

Seagulls...summer?

At Patties Creations this month,
 we would like you to...

"make a splash! - include water in your image "

I used Patties gorgeous image,
Seagulls Roost
and thought this would be perfect for a fathers day card
for my father-in-law, as he loves holidaying at the seaside.

I coloured the image with my promarkers and
layered lots of colours, to give depth and a realistic feel.
The seagull in the middle, I decoupaged.
I did a little inking on the sky, to age the image a little
and mounted it all onto a woodgrain effect embossed piece.

I would like to enter this  into the following challenges:

Fathers day

At Patties Creations this month, we have set the challenge to make a:
"Fathers day or Graduation card."

I chose to make a Fathers day card...
and it was simple, with this fab "stacking pots" image!

I printed off the image, with an extra one too,. so I could
colour (with my promarkers) and decoupage the pots.
The green watering can is a die cut (I forgot I had!,
 as are the gardening tools.
I added a computer generated sentiment and
an embossed background...
This card is going to go to my Father in Law for Fathers day.
He loves his green house, and little allotment-like garden!

Birds and flowers

With imminent (I hope) changes on the way for me,
This will be my last DT post with Glitter n Sparkle -
just for a little while.
I will return, as I love being a part of the team, but
there's a bit too much going on at the minute...
So...

My last challenge with them for a while is...
"flower power."

I loved using this image - Home Sweet Home -
from A Day for Daisies.
I printed it along with a little part of the branch and a
freebie sentiment I found on the www.

I coloured using my promarkers
and added a little organza ribbon.
I wanted to keep this one C.A.S and so
embossed a single line around the outside,
before adhering on foam pads, to the cardbase.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

My favourite colour

Here is my second (and final) card as guest designer at The Crazy Challenge...

The challenge this time, is to "use your favourite colour"
Well... I LOVE blue, turquoise and purple
and I LOVE this image from A Day For Daisies.
I printed the image and sentiment
and embossed and inked around the edge.
I matted it onto one of my fave papers and then again onto an piece which I
had embossed with flowers, through my bigshot.
Finally, I inked the embossed piece
and added some small punched butterflies and liquid pearls.
The image was coloured with promarkers.

Wine

Over at Glitter n Sparkle this week,
the old fave challenge is back - anything goes!

I worked with an image called "wine tableau" from Sparkle n Sprinkle.
I thought this would be a great image to use on a birthday card -
and would suit a lot of people I know!
I coloured the image with my promarkers and
added some glossy accents to the grapes and wine.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Ribbon and / or lace...

...That's the challenge at Glitter n Sparkle this week.
Although I am a D.T member, I got a Patties Creations image -
One I don't own, and have been hankering after, for a while,
for the right challenge...
It's - Crystal Chandelier.

The image was so lovely to colour.
I used all my 5 "grey" shades of promarkers
and a white sakura pen, to pop on some highlights.
The sentiment is from Pink Petiicoat -
which is sadly no longer trading.
All the little droplets are filled with little diamantes,
to give that extra bit of sparkle and bling.
I punched the bottom border, with a punch that loosely resembles lace
and added a little handtied ribbon up the side.
Embossing a clean line around the edge of the card and a little inking, finished this one.

Guest Designer - challenge 1 !

I was delighted recently, when I won a
guest designer spot

The first of my 2 challenges is to...
"use 3 layers or more"
and handily, I needed a card for someone who has recently passed her driving test.
The image is from Beansie Doodles
and is called "Zilpha."
I coloured her with my promarkers
and hnd-drew and cut a little 'broken' learner plate.
The background border sits on a piece of kraft card
which has an embossed line along the top
and a fancy cut bottom edge.
The paper across the middle is actually from an old road map!
I carefully picked the area where she lives and has been learning to drive.
The sentiment was printed straight onto the card.

One for my mum

This weeks challenge at Glitter n Sparkle is to make,]
"One for the Ladies!"
An easy one for me - as I have my mums birthday coming up soon...

I dropped on the perfect image for my mum - combining her loves:
cats, her kitchen and baking.
The image is called "Aurora - little baker and love kitchen."
and its from the East Wind.
I embossed with my favourite hearts folder - it embosses beautifully
and you can use it any which way -
and my other new favourite... I got it in the USA a few weeks ago - paw prints.
I have never seen a paw prints embossing folder before and knew
as soon as i saw it, I had to snap it up!
It again, embosses beautifully.
I added a red punched border and the image was matted and layered.
The flowers are so lovely.. from docrafts and the little tag is from craftwork cards.
On the original image, the little frame "hanging" at the top of the image, says "LOVE"
but I wanted to say MUM somewhere on the card..
and thought that was the perfect spot, so I
snipped a little piece of card to fit and handwrote the letters.
The herat diecut is from menmory box.

Mothers Day cosmos flowers

Over at Patties Creations, the challenge this month is,
"Mother's Day / Flowers only."
I went with the Mother's Day option...
although this could work for the "flowers" option, too!

For this card, I used  the lovely image - "watering can cosmos."
I coloured the image with my promarkers ...pastel beige for the watering can
and various pinks n purples for the flowers.
The leaves are marianne diecuts mixed with a big curly flourish.
The Butterflies are cheery lynn dies.
I also used my new Sue Wilson frame dies...which I love!
I made the sentiment myself in publisher.

Shaped card

At Glitter n Sparkle this week,. the challenge is to make a
"shaped card."

I had a "fairy door" shaped card in mind when I saw this cute
Xmas Fairy image at Ikes Art...

I hand- drew and cut the shaped card.
I used a backing paper form a 6 x 6 pack from 'The Works'
and drew some faux planks up and down it, with
little white dots along the outside edges.
I hand cut the little door in white card and embossed
lines to create a wooden door effect.
I also added a little grey promarker and pencil, to give a shade of depth
but this is hard to see in the photo.
The edges of the door have been dotted with silver.
The fairy was coloured with my promarkers and fussy-cut.
For the final details, I added some diecut stalks and leaves
and punched flowers.
A few small Martha Stewart butterflies
finished off this card.

This set is called J'taime Paris.
I have included the Eiffel tower, bike, table and chairs, poodle and "bonjour!"
They all come as uncoloured images and pre-coloured images!
For this card, I selected to sue the pre-coloured images this time.

The border is diecut and i punched the flowers and doodled a bit on them.
Th backing paper is the first of my pack form Lawn Faun.
I LOVE polka dot paper and thought the pink would work beautifully.

Red and White

Our challenge this week, at Glitter n Sparkle
is to "use red and white."

I loved this simply beautiful image this week
 for this challenge, from Bugaboo
it's called, "flower tags: tag 2"

I wanted the flower to be the focal point
and was desperate to use my new stamps...
we went to Canada last week and
I had the joy of visiting Hobby Lobby again...
I bought mainly: embossing folders, stamps and a few dies.
The stamp I used here is one of my HL new ones.

I embossed the background and cut out the centre, to fit the
flower frame on 3d foam pads, and matted the embossing on red.
I carefully placed the stamp inside the frame
and prayed it would work first go...it did!
Hurrah!!

Blue owl

Yey! I got to use an image from
Kitty Bee Designs this week, for our
"sun / moon / stars / space" challenge at
 the Glitter n Sparkle blog.

I won the sentiment on a challenge a while ago, from digi makeover
- they have some lovely ones over there!
I coloured carefully with my promarkers
and chalked the edges of everything.
The star embossed background is enhanced with
a new purchase...blue / silver star glitter tape!
I bought this on our holiday on Canada... earlier this week.
I bought quite a few different rolls -
from the dollar store!
Works out at about 60p per roll...and there's tons on each roll!
:)  I love a bargain  :)

Cheers, lady!

Oooh, I have been hankering after this FAB image
its called  "Wine drinker: lady with glass of wine"

The challenge over at Glitter n Sparkle this week, is to:
"use a die or punch"
...an easy challenge for me! I LOVE using my dies and punches!
So... the frame is a spellbinders die.
The borders are punched and the little tag is cut from a die.
I embossed the hearts in the background and
coloured the image with my promarkers.
Glossy accents has highlighted the wine in the glass.
I could give this card to many different friends and colleagues..
and when I do decide to give this one,
I will probably write their name on the bottle label.

Spring is here....

At Patties Creations this month,
you have a choice with our monthly challenge. It's
"Eastertime or Springtime."

I chose Springtime...

I absolutely adore this image - and have done, for a long time.
It's called "sweet nectar"
I have lots of these plants in my garden....
Its called bleeding heart and I think I have about
5 of the pink ones and 2 white ones.

It's a real spring flower.
Infact, mine is peeping up from it's soily winter blanket as I type.
I shall add some pics when it's grown and full.

The hummingbirds are so lovely too.
The image actually only comes with one hummingbird...the bigger one.
I flipped the image and made it smaller,
because as soon as I saw this image, I knew I wanted
it on the front of an anniversary card for my parents-in-law.
Their anniversary is on 2nd April.. they had a springtime wedding!
I decoupaged the larger hummingbird on 3d foam, to make it stand out a little.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

It' s Easter!

The challenege at Glitter n Sparkle this week,. is "Easter!"
Perfect for this time of year!
So.. here is my yearly Easter card...
I only make one.
It's for my niece and nephew.
(Shes 12 and he is 3.)

The image is called "Pocket Patootie Easter Bunny"
from The Stamping Boutique.
It was a lovely image to colour with my promarkers.
I decoupaged his arm, so it stands off the image.
I stamped the little easter eggs using a free stamp set I got on a craft mag
a few years ago and added some
docrafts flowers.
I punched the border and the sentiment is from my pc.
The backing paper was in a pack that cost me £1 a number of years ago.
It's a lovely spring flowers paper.

Baby bunny

I got lucky enough this week, over at Glitter n Sparkle
to get a second image - "Cute Bunny" from Bugaboo.
Again, I created a card for our
"anything goes" challenge...

I wanted to keep this simple -
I embossed the background with my "swiss dots"
embossing folder. I love this method of embossing - with folders, in my bigshot...
it's easy, quick and effective!
I coloured the bunny with my promarkers
(and raised it off the card, with slight 3d foam pads)
and added a strip along the bottom, embossed the edges and
added a diecut word... love.
(It was my birthday this week, and a lovely friend knew i wanted this die,
and sent it to me - as a surprise!  Thankyou Helen ...
I love it!)

Sepia tones

When I got this image called "Billy" from Ppinkydolls,
I wanted to make it look like an old sepia image...

I played about with my lyra pencils and derwent watercolour pencils
to create the soft colouring, as the image is drawn so softly.
The challenge this week at Glitter n Sparkle is
"Anything goes"
so I could play with the sepia technique.
I used some strips of beige / brown papers
and embossed and softly chalked the background, to give a little more detail.
The sentiment is stamped on the card base.. it's from craftwork cards.

Use green...

This weeks challenge at Glitter n Sparkle
is ... "use green"
So I coloured this cute image - Cadence -
using plenty of green!

I thought this lovely image was gorgeous to colour.
I popped her onto an embossed star background, once I had fussy cut around her.
I embossed using a docrafts folder - my favourite way to emboss,
as its quick. simple and very effective!
The sentiment is from pink petticoat...which is now, sadly, closed.
It was really hard to photograph, but i have also used my fave diamond
stickles on her wings and near the sentiment.
I matted the embossed piece and the sentiment onto green card,
but thought it needed something more,
so added white dots with my white sakura pen.
