Cheeky snowman

Over at the Colour Crazy Challenge blog, our sponsor this time is Digi doodles -
I used this cutie snowman called "Jolly O'l Sparky Snowman."

I coloured it with my promarkers and a few other alcohol pens,
added a sentiment from my pc and stamped on some snowflakes and glittered the
snowflake centres.
The snow has been glittered in parts ( which didn't show too well on the photo)
and it has all been backed onto two christmassy papers.
A little row of Christmas bulbs sits above and below the image and it is
finished with a Christmas present in the corner
and a diecut strip of holly n the corner.

Winter fun

At Patties Creations this month, the theme is "Winter Fun!"
and when I saw this bauble image, I knew immediately how I could
turn it into a winter-fun card...

Obviously, kitties have to feature!
Seeing as one of our kitties loves to climb the Christmas tree
(we have not been able to have any of our glass decorations up for the last 2 years
while we have had our little two!)  I thought I would sit one on a bauble, while the other watches.
The cats (and mouse) are actually peel-offs!
I don't really use peel-offs normally,
but thought they would be "purrfect" for this card!
I coloured the baubles with a selection of my grey promarkers
and the bows with some other, coloured pens.
The sentiment was from my pc and I embossed the image before
matting it on some christmas docrafts paper.
I drew on the candy cane bar along the top and added bows to finish the baubles off.

Mistletoe kisses

Yey! Another Christmas card done..
Over at The Colour Crazy Challenge,
we are bring sponsored by "All Dressed Up" and I got to use
this lovely image called "mistletoe kisses."

I used it to make a Christmas card for Hubby's Mum and Dad.
I coloured the image with my alcohol markers
and popped it on a background that looks like ribbons, stitched together.
Carefully, I added lots of punched fir branches to the top, in green and gold
and dotted on some red liquid pearls.
The finishing touch was to draw faux-stitching round the edge of the white diecut shape.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Christmas card for Hubby

Angie Blom is our sponsor this week at
What an amazing image..well, actually, this is a little set -
I used 2 images - (1)the kitty on the parcel and (2)the 3 cheeky kitties
peeking in from the sides and (3) the sentiment.
I knew this would make the perfect card for my hubby...

...So I coloured the kits to look like our 2.
I used my promarkers to colour the kits,
I like the traditional Christmas colours, so stuck with red and green
for the present and hats.
I stuck on some teeny peel--off stars, drew on a heart and diecut a tag for
the top, which I strung with bakers twine. I hand-wrote the tag
and tried to make it look similar to the font on the front.
I think this card will make him smile.
I may have to make another similar card, for my Mum & Dad,
with their cat, Louie, on the front.

'Autumn / Fall' is the challenge that Pattie has set this week,

I used the fab image - witch's legs.
It was really quick to colour with my alcohol markers
and I put it with green, orange and purple papers.
The bats and silver moons (on the shoes) are little sequins.
I dry-embossed a simple line around the edge of the card.

Flowers

Jan's Digi Stamps are sponsoring our challenge this week
at The Colour Crazy Challenge.
Jan has some truly amazing digi stamps and sets and I was
lucky enough to get this image: Friendship Flowers.

The image was lovely to colour with my promarkers and
other alcohol pens. I also used my white sakura pen to put on little white highlights and details.
The sentiment was computer generated.
I used a backing paper from an 8 x 8 pack of papers.
I inked the edges of everything and dry embossed around the edge of the spotty paper
and added some washi tape to the top.
A printed butterfly (fussy cut) and faux stitching around the edge, finished this card
for my Mother-In-Law.

and coloured it with my promarkers and alcohol pens.
I dry embossed it round the edge, matted it on red
and popped it on a leafy background.
I dry embossed the edge of the card and added some papermania
paper flowers, layered on each other.
I also put some glossy accents on the umbrellas.

Mermaid

At The Colour Crazy Challenge, we are being sponsored by: Ching Chou Kuik.
I got this lovely image called: The tender Angie. (mermaid)

She took an age to colour, with my promarkers and alcohol pens,
but worth it when I had finished and fussy-cut around her.
I die-cut a frame in a few different papers to represent the sky and sand,
ripping the edges carefully to appear like the surf.
The "sea " in the background was made with my promarkers and the "sky" behind her,
was inked with my chalky inks.
The whole thing was matted and layered on a kraft paper, then a kraft / blue foiled paper.
I love this card, if I do say so myself. :)

Mums 70th Birthday

The challenge is "anything goes!" at
Patties Creations this week.

I chose the beautiful image !magnolia branch"
as I thought it would make the perfect card for my mums 70th birthday!

(Unfortunately, I couldn't attend her garden party last week as I was in isolation,
a child in one of my groups tested positive, then I tested positive a week later!)

Anyhow...
I coloured the image with my alcohol markers,
added a stamped sentiment and diecut numbers,
with a punched butterfly and heart.
I edged it all in pink / yellow and popped it on a trellis-look  embossed background.

My Mum loved it!

I used my alcohol markers and promarkers to colour this cute image.
I used some backing papers from a free pack of "summer" papers,
which I got free in a magazine a looooong time ago!
The sentiment was stamped.
I put some glossy accents on the cherries
and added some dots and faux stitching to the papers.

Hootie birthday

"Things with wings" is the challenge this month at Pattie's Creations.
I have used the image called "Hootie"
and have made this card for my cousin, who loves owls!

I have been having a mini sort in the craft room
and found some small doilies and I thought half of one would fit perfectly on this card.
I was playing about with the design for ages
and it all seemed to come together when I spotted the doilies.
I fussy cut Hootie, after colouring him with my promarkers.
The backing papers, circle with flower and sentiment all came from a freebie
paper pack, which I must have gotten in a magazine at some point.
The punched butterfly and faux stitching around the edges,
finished this card off.

Friday 28 May 2021

Pup with balloons.

At The Colour Crazy Challenge,
we have one of our favourite sponsors this week: Bugaboo!

I have used the image called "Pup balloons"
which I coloured with my alcohol markers and fussy-cut around.
The balloons were given a layer of glossy accents.
The frame is a diecut (done on my bigshot)
and I made a computer generated sentiment and a fussy-cut butterfly.

Ship in a bottle

It's the "anything goes" challenge at Patties Creations this month!
I used the wonderful image called "ship in a bottle"

I thought it would make a great card for my Dad, for Fathers Day.
When we were younger, I am sure my Dad made one of these.
I coloured it with my promarkers and popped it on a little 'stand'
made of scraps of card, inked around the edges.
The backing paper is from a 12 x 12 set I bought in a pound shop a looooong time ago.
I made sure that the word CANADA can be seen just underneath the bottle, as that's
where we have had a fair few wonderful holidays!
The edges of that were carefully torn and inked.

I t needed something on the edge to help it all pull together, so I opted for a thick black and thinner brown hand-drawn line.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Pig out!

The Colour Crazy Challenge are being sponsored this time by Imagine That Digi Stamps.
I used the very cute image called "a little behind."
It comes in a set of super-cute images and sentiments -
although for this card, I made my own sentiment as I was giving this to a friend
who I had also bought a little bag of edible treats for.

I definitely wanted the pink / brown colour combo for this card,
so found some matching papers in my stash.
I inked and dry embossed the edges of each piece, added some faux-stitching
and some punched flowers and butterflies and some diecut swirls and leaves.

This card was very well received! :)

Card for a young girl.

My neighbours little girl turned 8 last week
and I made her this card.
Pink, flowers, birds, bunting...

The frame was diecut on my bigshot,
along with the "happy birthday" her name and age and the little birds.
I cut little triangles for the bunting and popped the frame and sentiment
onto 3d foam.
The butterflies were punched.
I fussy cut one of the flowers from the design to pop in the top left-hand corner,

Teacups

We have a fabulous new sponsor for our challenge

I got this gorgeous image called: Sketchy Rose Cups.

I love using this image and wanted to give it a very delicate look.
So, I used a pink petticoat backing paper (no longer trading)
and some pastel coloured promarkers, to colour the image.
I inked all edges in a dusky pink inkpad and dry embossed around the edge of the image.
Die-cut corners and a few punched butterflies finished this card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Birthday!

This month at Pattie's Creations
it's the favourite "anything goes" challenge.

I chose "fondant cake" and was spoilt for choice, because it comes with 2 images!
This is one of them...

I picked some pastel coloured promarkers to colour the cake
and added a little pattern to each layer - using white sakura pen and 3D pearl effects.
I die-cut the frame and handcut a few little bunting triangles,
which I patterned with my sakura pens.
As I often do, I finished with a dry embossed line around the edge of the card.

I am sending this card to my friend, for her birthday (she is a cake baker!)
(The little "happy birthday" scroll is not park of the image -
I stamped it from one of my sets and and fussy cut around the scroll. )

A card for a friend

We got another new sponsor over at The Colour Crazy Challenge!
I loved using this super-cute image from Hetty Clare.
Its called "flowers for you".
It reminded me of a friend of mine, so I have sent it to her, for her birthday.

I dry-embossed a simple frame, in a square shape around the image and
fussy-cut it, so that the girls head stuck out in the top corner.
I used the colours and patterned backing paper which I thought my friend would like.
The sentiment was stamped on an off-cut of card
and I coloured the image with my promarkers.
The middle of each sunflower has a blob of glossy accents on.
I added a little hand-drawn faux stitching around the edge of the frame
and dry embossed around the edge of the card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Cup of hugs

The favourite "anything goes" challenge
is the theme this month at Patties Creations.
I got the image called "Latte with whipped cream"
and made this card...

I decided to do a rainbow whipped cream with my promarkers,
and I found the 'hugs' sentiment on my pc.
(I must have had it for a very long time, because I don't remember
where or when I got it !)
After colouring the mug and saucer, I used my white sakura pen to
add a little pattern to the rim of the mug and saucer.
The backing paper is from a little paper pack from 'The Works'
and the other is kraft card - I embossed the piece on the right, in my bigshot.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Home sweet home

At the Colour Crazy Challenge, there's a new sponsor this week:-
Angie Blom. I love the images we got to work with
and knew I had to join in with this challenge!

These house images come from an absolutely adorable digi stamp set called "homes."
I just fell in love with these little houses...and you get so many!
I have only used 4 but you get loads more
(I think there are 9 in total) and they can be used in so many diferent ways!
This is a really versatile set and well worth having in your stash.
I used 4 images on my card and coloured them with my promarkers.
The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat (no longer trading)
and I faux stitched around the edge
before finishing off with a few dry embossed lines along the top and bottom.

A new sponsor for us!

We have a new sponsor to us at The Colour Crazy Challenge blog this week,
I got this gorgeous image, called "Mom is at home"

I knew straight away that I wanted to make my Mum's mothers day card with this image,
as it reminded me so much of her with my niece ( a few years ago!)
and I coloured the two playful kitties to be like my kits now.

I coloured the image with my promarkers and a few other alcohol pens.
(The kits are supposed to look like our two kits.)
I left the chair until last, as I didn't want it to dominate the image
so decided to colour it light grey, then added a simple dotted pattern to it,
with some teeny-weeny faux stitching around the edges.
I popped the image on a fancy rectangle diecut and a strip of backing paper.
The sentiment was stamped from a set I have had for yonks.

With love

At Patties Creations this moth, we would like you to use the theme,
"love, love, love."
For this challenge, I chose to use Pattie's "Gerber Daisy".

A simply beautiful image, I wanted to keep this card simple too.
I coloured the daisy so carefully, with my alcohol markers. (Promarkers)
Its difficult to see, but I also coloured the water and
sprinkled on a little ultra fine glitter on the water to give it a little shimmer.
The backing is just kraft card,
which I put cut into strips (and embossed the two smaller pieces) and
drew on some faux stitching in white sakura pen.
I cut the little tag myself and hand-wrote the sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Spring soon

Well, what a year so far....

We are back in lockdown - again. - ish.

I'm not going into it, but let's just say that last time we locked down, we had max 38 children

in school, and this time there are 130.

All available staff are in. It's crazy. It's stressful. It needs to change!

Now to get on with my card before I blow my top...

A lovely image called Heart of Spring by Ching Chou Kuik.

I coloured her with my promarkers and wanted to keep her simple.

So I inked the edges and dry embossed around the image.

A few punched butterflies and a stamped sentiment finished this card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Happy new year!

 Happy 2021!!
It's got to better than 2020, hasn't it?!

Thought I'd start off the year with a card I made,
using Patties Creations image: Party Gnomes. ..

It was a lovely image to colour.
I just used a few flesh colours for the gnomes noses,
and red, green and blue combinations for their clothes.
A darker blue balloon (also used glossy accents on this one)
and a yellow star finished this image off,
along with a computer generated sentiment.
I dry embossed the edges of the card, as I always
thinks this gives a "finished" quality and I dotted around the edge of the image.
(I almost turned this into faux-stitching, but stopped myself at the last minute.)

This card is for a man, so didn't want to put too many
added extras to the image.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
