Has it really been so long....

...Since I last blogged?!
I didn't realise!!!
So I shall show you a selection of the Christmas cards I have made this year....

I think this first card up, is one of my faves this year.
Made personally for my sister, her fella and their little girl.
I made the image myself from about 15 separate digi-images and
decoupaged a lot of it too...
glossy accents here and there and a few martha stewart snowflakes
- kindly punched for my by a docrafts buddy! -
craftwork cards sentiment and
papermania embossing folder for the background.
I loved putting this together :)

This is a cute card that I made quite a few of, in the end.
Easy and quick to make.
Printed out image with my own greeting,
matted and layered onto colour and papermania
embossing folder....can't you tell I just bought it this year!  ;)

 I love this homely image...
I found it on Beccys place, so thankyou, Beccy - I made a few with this image!
(Coloured with my watercolour pencils and pc generated sentiment).

 Another quick and easy set...
papermania embossing folder and my own martha stewart punch.
sentiments are either craftwork cards, stamped or pc generated.

I bought a couple of sets of peg stamps earlier in the year and loved
using them to make this card and the ones that follow....
Its a shame the photo doesn't pick it up too well,
but the card above is so sparkly irl.
"warm wishes" stamp is from a set I bought from QVC TSV ages ago.

I had to buy this set as I love that little branch
- I feel I can do a lot with that branch, all year round -
and the little Christmas flowers have a gem in the center of each.

Yet another set of the peg stamps meant I could make a little mistletoe wreath.

And finally, This is from an embossing folder I have had for a few years,
I simply added a pc sentiment and a diecut star!
Thanks for looking (and commenting!),..more to come soon xx

My Nieces birthday card

Just wanted to share this card I made for our nieces 8th birthday recently.

She absolutely loves reading the rainbow fairies books...
I have lost count of the number of those books she has read!
I wanted to make her a card with a fairy and a rainbow on, and merged some images
to come up with this.
I used glamour dust on the edges of her wings and tiara,
and added a sparkly butterfly cut on my BS.
(PS...She loved it!)

Girly cards

I had been asked to make some girly cards recently..

This photo does not do this card justice...it is sooo sparkly in real life!
The image is a digi element, which I printed a couple of times and decoupaged,
adding lots of stickles and glamour dust!
I diecut the butterfly on my BS.

I forgot I had this pp image!
How could I forget?
I still love it!
I used lots of pinks and girly lavenders,
pearls and glossy accented bubbles round the bath.
Punched flowers and diecut numbers on my BS.

I've started my Christmas cards!

At last!
Every year, I say I will start making my christmas cards in half term
(late Oct, and I always start them in December!) but I really have this yr!
Infact, half term is next week and I have made 7 now...all different!

I got some new stamps recently...
like tapestry stamps, or morsel stamps.
It took a few goes, but after a bit of practice, I worked out this wreath made of snowflakes.
I added stickles to the centre of each flake
and embossed the edges of the card.
Stamped sentiment in the middle...I forgot I had this stamp!!!
It's so much nicer in real life!

I'm not sure what this flower is, but thought it quite christmassy,
with the wreath of twigs and a gold gem in the centre of each flower.
I embossed the edge again.

 This is my mistletoe wreath.
Stamped and glittered with stickles.
Computer generated sentiment inside the wreath.

This final one is my holly wreath.
Its hard to see, but I have dotted each berry with a red glittery pen
and added some tiny gold gems onto some of the wreath twigs.
Stamped sentiment.
Embossed round the edge.
Thanks for looking...

A varied selection!

I have been dabbling with a few cards since being back to work...

This card was a commission form a friend at work....
I gave it to her today and she was thrilled with it!!! Thank goodness!
I wanted to make the card quite modern and trendy...and for a male. Hmmm....
This took a LOT of thought!

I have seen this type of image on lots of cards recently, and think it
is lovely....
I made my own...hand-drew the hearts, and added
pearls to one and a "tux" to the other.
Simply layered onto embossed strip.
Computer generated sentiment.

This had to be a quick one...I was asked one evening to make this...for the next day...
Ooooh, the stress!
I knew the woman (whose birthday it was...Julie) made gingerbread,
so used a gingerbread man in the main image...
along with digi presents and balloon.
Of course, some glossy accents got popped on there too!

I made a card similar to this, not long ago. That card was for a man
who had just gained his blackbelt...this card was
for a woman who has just passed her blackbelt!
I used the same stuff as for the mans card, but changed it by taking away
the grey background and adding the red matting.
(Black ribbon to represent the blackbelt.)

This is such a cute image... I have had it ages and never used it!
I decoupaged the cat, the flowers on one girls hat
and the ribbon and flowers on the other girls hat.
A bit of G.A here and there -
as usual!
I thought the image fit beautifully with the sentiment.
Thanks for looking

Just back from my holiday...

...So I thought I would pop on some cards I made before I went away.

I made this for my card box...I just thought
the image was so lovely!
I decoupaged their hats, shoes and butterflies.   x

 I like these coffeee images
so I sized them ot fit 4 on the card.
I haven't added any sentiment yet.
Don't think I will on this one.
Just leave it as a blank card I think, for any message inside.  x

I made this for a friends little boy - who will be 2 in October...
How good am I? Onto my October cards in August!
I have started thinking about my christmas cards, but no definate plans yet.
I used some digi downloads that I got free on a website agggges ago...
"Old McDonalds farm"
I decoupaged the animals heads and used my pc to put the
little boys name and age on the image.  x

Set of "delightful birthday" cards

I liked the thankyou set so much, I decided to make a similar birthday set...

I used pink petticoat image and paper on this card...
I printed it out a while ago. so I can't remember which kit it came from, sorry!
(Image from simply delightful set)
Little silver gems added,
and matted with black!

Exactly the same as above, only I used the negative paper to the card above.

I matted the image and embossed the outside black mat...
on the card.
Dead easy.

For this final card, I used an embossing folder
and some silver gems, with black oganza ribbon.

Thanks for looking! x

the image and sentiment are from a pink petticoat kit.
I have had this aaaaaages and never used it....
so i'm using it to make a few for my box!

Another two.

Just two for now...more later....

I used embossed pieces from my big-shot, to make this one.
I also used a bit of ribbon, some pearl gems and
a craftwork cards sentiment.
Quick and easy to make.

This one is for brothers birthday...
He loves his laptop and his beer!I decopaged some parts of the card
and glossy accented the drips on the beer.

A couple of birthday cards...one male, one female...

Two cards, for two friends....

I made this one just a couple of days ago, for a friend whose birthday is tomororw.
I called her yesterday - she had recieved it through the post, so I made her open it!
I'm awful, I know!!! lol...
I like to see / hear a reaction though...
I designed this particularly with her in mind.
I watercoloured the image, and I drew, carefully ripped and
faux-stitched the heart.
The bunting is a digi element I have on the pc.
I used plenty of glossy accents and faux-stitched the edges of the card.
(She loved it!)

I got this fab image from La pashe last week...
I knew it would be great for a male friend whose birthday is coming up -
and he loves F1!
I didn't use all the decoupage on the sheet,
as I only like a layer or two  maximum.
I did draw and make the bunting myself though...and coloured all those teeny little squares in!
It's his birthday later in the month,
so I'm hoping he will love it!
(sentiment is craftwork cards).

Cards for my "card-box"

I made these recently, just to have in my card -box.

I don't like having to make sympathy cards,
but as soon as I saw this image, I knew it would make a lovely
"sympathy / thinking of you" card.
I decopaged some of the lilies and added a little glossy accents,
a pc-generated sentiment, a ribbon and some liquid pearls.

I don't remember where I got this image, but I absolutely
ADORE bleeding hearts... they are absolutely beautiful and are spring flowers.
I have 3 pink ones in the front garden
and a white one in the back garden. They are beautiful.
I thought the sentiment 'fit' with the image.
I put some lovely pale paper behind the image, which I got in a set
from a pound shop, years ago.

Two Anniversary cards.

It's my Mum and Dads Anniversary, today...

...and I made them two cards!!
Well, I made this card a couple of weeks ago,
as they are both very much "cat" people
and I like the sentiment.
But then I saw "Imag-e-nation" were having a sale.....

......and I saw this sheet...with the citroen on.
Many moons ago, when we were children (me and sis),
Dad had citroen cars... we had a Dolly, a 2CV and  2CV6 special.
- One of them was "rhubarb and custard" colours!
I loved standing up in the back, with my head poking out the roof!
(In the days before you HAD to wear a seatbelt in the back!)
Anyway - I didn't use all the decoupage...I don't like too too much of it on one card.
I also used some G.A here and there.
This is the one I gave them in the end, 'cos it's so different.
(and they both loved it and had a little chuckle!)

Just the one, today...

Another card for my box....

"Butterflies are like friends...
Each one is different,
Each one is beautiful,
Each one is special"
I thought this sentiment was lovely!
I decoupaged some parts of the image
and glossy accented others.

One week gone, already!

So that's one week gone, of my summer holidays! Phew!
It's flying-by!!   :(

As soon as I saw this image, I knew I wanted to use it on a card for a friend,
and I also knew it didn't need much more with it,
so...I thought I would "shape" the card.
I had a little play and came up with this shape. I hand-drew it,then
cut it out and added some faux stitching.
A bit of faux stitching round the image, some punched flowers
and hand-drawn stems.
(You know me... I had to glossy accent somewhere...
the cats eyes, nose and flower centers.)

I wanted to make some cards for my box...some simple "friend" cards.
I printed out this image and decoupaged parts,
adding glossy accents here and there.
I generated the sentiment on the image, on the computer.

Again, another image which I decoupaged (some flowers and the girls dress)
with G.A on some parts and pc
generated sentiment.
Thanks for looking.   x

A definate "challenge"!!

Thought I wouldn't manage this one, but I did!!...

I was asked, by a friend at work, to make her a card...
she asked on Tuesday and we broke up on Wednesday, so she needed
me to make it that night.
"Can you make me a card that has on a woman doing aerobics,
with something to do with being made a superintendant?
Oh, and can I have these certain words on the card?"
Hmmm!!!  A tall order...
But I did it! And she loved it!!
Phew!
xx

I really enjoyed making this card.
I thought the image looked a lot like the friend I was making it for.
The backing paper is a digi paper I have, whichI have never used...
I don't know why, 'cos it is lovely!
I glossy accented her shoes and heart and necklace.

Teacher "Thankyou" cards

I made these recently, to say "thankyou" to some teachers.

I put allsorts of bits and bobs together to make this card...
... it took a while!
I used glossy accents on things like the
 apple and the mug.

I used some lined paper for the backing of this card!
I decoupaged bits of the image, like the apple...and bit of G.A too.
I used a font to try and look like the "thankyou"
had been written on in chalk.
Thanks for looking. x

Day 1 of summer holidays.

Hopefully, I will get here regularly to keep my blog updated during these hols!

I was asked to make a card last week, for an older girl
who is doing a ballet performance.
Her mum - my colleague - always likes to give her family a card
after they have been in a performance or a show....
I used an image, wordart, gems, matting, and I cut and punched
the edge myself.
She loved this card.

The same colleagues husband is in a show too....
(not ballet!)  :)
I used these images and decoupaged the masks, stars and "presenting" ticket.
I added a gold gem to each star.
She liked this one too!

Finally, her other daughter is also in a production.
I made this image using different digi images
and a bit of glitz and sparkle.
Thankfully, she loved this one, too!

While the weather is awful...

..I  have been cleaning and crafting...

I made this first card for a friend, for her son to give to her daughter.
I love this backing paper...I think it was from a set in a pound shop, years ago!
I punched the flowers and a friend bought me a
set of diecuts from the pound shop last year..and these fabulous sparkly butterflies
were in the pack...I love 'em!
(I added the pearls)

I love this image...the colours in particular.
I can completely imagine a lady drinking from this set!
I decoupaged elements on this card and added some G.A and
liquid pearls to the edges of the frame.

This one didn't take long to make,...
I decoupaged some parts of the image...like the doves and the banner.
Added some liquid pearls and matted the image.

This is another one I was asked to make.
The photo is awful..I only noticed that though, after I had given it to my friend who
asked me to make it for her son,.
I handcut round the kicking men, to decoupage them.
The ribbon is supposed to represent the black belt.
She loved it. xx
