It's definitely Autumn!

The clocks have gone back,
 the weather is turning colder,
and the leaves look like jewels -  rich oranges, golds and browns....

So, over at Glitter and Sparkle, we have the theme :
"Fall / Autumn"

(I'm from the northwest of England, so it's
Autumn for me, although I love the word "fall".)

My image is form Bugaboo and is called "Autumn Jar."

I loved colouring this image with my promarkers.
I decoupaged some parts...like the sunflower, the pumpkin and the acorn.

The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat
(which is soon to close, so pop over there and grab a bargain in the sale, while you can!)
which I thought completely suited the image.
I wanted to keep this card clean and simple.
I added a simple line and dotted frame, with a brown and an orange fineliner.
Then, I finished by matting onto a backing paper and inking all the edges.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges...

Almost Halloween...

I was thrilled this week, to be able to play with this
 super-cute image from Sami Stamps
called "witch's cat" .
This card is for our challenge - "halloween - cute or spooky"
over at Glitter n Sparkle....

I knew, as soon as I saw this image, that I would size it well and use it with my die-
"grand madison window" from memory box.
I was hunting around for some "starry" paper, and
found this bargain (£3) embossing folder in The Range!
I'm sure it will do many various types of cards, so i pounced on it!
I have dusted a silver inkpad just over the stars, to get the silver gleam on each star.
I made a little blind, using a scrap of  co-ordinating paper and
a little piece of border punched card
and finally made a quick, handwritten sign to "hang up" at the window.

The image was coloured with my promarkers.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Use some pink...and my blog candy winner(s)!

First up.... at Glitter n Sparkle this week,
the challenge is to "use some pink"...
well, I went all out!
(It's breast cancer care month and I thought the "whole pink" thing,
making yourself look the best you can, would fit perfectly.)

I used "Princess Jennifer Latte Vanity" from The Stamping Boutique.
She was lovely to colour with my promarkers.
I decoupaged the latte cup on the side
and added a pink backing, with a slice of embossed circle flowers,
then a couple of cuttlebug diecut corners and
the handbag sentiment is from craftwork cards.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges...

Girly

At Glitter n Sparkle this week,
we have a new sponsor - Julia Spiri...
She has recently started her own ( very cute!!) digi designs...
for this weeks challenge (anything goes)
I was thrilled to receive "girl with pigtails."

I made this card with a little girl in mind - to receive it for her birthday.
I used a marianne die-cut birdcage (I left the little door open),
memory box die-cut birds,
sizzix die-cut present and Martha Stewart punched butterflies, along with a
"frame" which i made out of 4 punched pieces of border.
I think the sentiment was a freebie...maybe at 'Birds' freebie site,
which I don't think is around anymore :(
A little bit of doodling with white dots here n there, and colouring the
girl with pigtails with my promarkers, finished this card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...

Autumn

Over at Patties Creations this month,
we would like you to join our challenge with
"A fall / autumn" image.
I chose this gorgeous Autumn Wreath image from Patties Creations...

It was an absolute dream to colour (with my promarkers).
and I added a little glossy accents to the acorns.
After fussy cutting the wreath
(which took a lot of time,. but I thought was well worth it!)
I popped it onto a kraft card background, which I had already embossed.
I popped a "memory box precious heart" in gold, behind the wreath
and finished with some inking of the edges, matting, and a
stamped sentiment, sat on another piece
of kraft card, border punched in dark brown.

I made this card for my Grandma, who is going
to be 93 years old at the end of October.
An autumn birthday :)

Blog hop....and candy!

It's our 3rd birthday over at the GlitternSparkle blog
and all the Design Team are all offering Blog Candy!

More details shortly, but first...
here's my card for this week.

I had been after this image for aggges...love it! sooo retro!
I had a 3d viewer just like this, with "snow white" and "disney" reels!

The theme for our birthday bloghop is "add glitter n sparkle"
(which is what i used)
or
add a charm.

Even though there is glitter n sparkle on this card, i think  it could
also work as a mans card - with the retro toy we all remember (a boy-toy!)

I coloured the image:
with my promarkers, and added the white with
a white, fine graph it marker.
I found some mega sparkly silver card for the backing, and
a black and white "dovecraft" 6 x 6 paper for the very back.
I typed the words "love retro" on my clicky dynamo...
very 80's! lol.
A couple of holographic spiral diecuts finished this card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Creative knockouts - glitter it up - 30 Sept
Crafty gals corner - sparkle and glitter - 30 Sept
Crafty cardmakers - make it sparkle - 3 Oct

Yey!!!

Got to say to the whole team, I have thoroughly enjoyed making new friends and
definitely "challenging" myself all those times..
so thank-you to you all for putting up with me! hahah....

Anyway.. on with the details...

The challenge this week, at Glitter n Sparkle, is to
"use a die or punch."

Well, ok... I think i used 3 punches and 3 dies.... hahaha.

This stunning image is from one of my very favourites... A Day for Daisies.
It's called 'Hebern dress', and is a beauty to colour.
I used about 4 different promarkers - just to colour her dress!

The punches I used were: the white flower border (Martha Stewart)
the black slim border and the fancy square shape.

The dies I used were: the flowers, the butterflies and
the leaves. (The sentiment is also a diecut - from craftwork cards.)

Spa day

I got this sweet image this week, for my Glitter n Sparkle challenge.
It's called "spa day" and its from 'Cute as a Button.'
The challenge will really make you think this week...'something beginning with g.'
Hmmm......

With this C.A.S card, I got these 'g' words...
glammin' up, green, glasses, gorgeous, grey, and girly!

I simple printed off the image, with a sentiment from Pink Petticoat.
I coloured it with my promarkers,
raised the whole thing on 3d foam
and added a small diecut swirl, under the sentiment.
I also faux-stitched around the edge, with a green fineliner.

Sunday, 6 September 2015

Just because...

...I absolutely LOVE this sentiment from Inkylicious,
I knew as soon as I got my image "blossom 1" from Ikes Art,
I wanted to put the sentiment with the blossom....

So...the theme is "anything goes" this week at Glitter n Sparkle,
and I know everyone loves that challenge.
I bought the sentiment stamp a few months ago and have only used it once
- a few weeks ago, on a card for a friend -
which I must show here sometime soon.
I embossed a strip in my cuttlebug, and inked the edges of everything in a dusky pink.
I snipped a punched border, to make two little corners,
and finally added 3 small  Martha Stewart punched butterflies.

Good luck at high school!

I cannot believe my lovely niece is starting high school later this week!
Eeek!

(making me feel o-o-o-o-old!)
Anyway, I thought the theme over at Patties Creations
was perfect to make a card for her...
So I thought outside-the-box a bit, and chose "ladybug family"...

I hand-drew / wrote everything on this card, except the ladybug family!
I drew the "paper" directly onto the card, and separately made - drew and cut out -
the ruler, calculator, pencils and eraser.
Some of the items, I raised on 3d foam before putting on the card.
The ladybug family were coloured with my promarkers
and I put glossy accents on their shells.

Add buttons

I made this card for my mother-in-laws upcoming birthday...
She looks after our cats when we go away and I thought she would like this one...

The image is from  BUGABOO and is called "spring window"
I coloured it with my promarkers and used glossy accents on the ladybirds.
I diecut the edge of  a smaller piece of card (with the image on)
with my newish spellbinder edge dies, and embossed
a simple line around the other 3 edges.
The backing paper full of flowers came form a very old HOTP kit
I bought from QVC, yeeeeears ago!
(which I also embossed the edge of.)
A ribbon and a few pink buttons later, and I was finished!

Texting friends

I loved making this card!
This fabulous image is from Kenny K and
is called "texting friends"
I think my niece, who is to turn 12 soon, would love this!

I recently won some stamps from the wonderful  Lawn Fawn
(which was a completely new find for me!)
and i picked the set with the little twitter sign and instagram logo, and
'text talk' - hashtags, the birthday sentiment, lol, etc...
SO on-trend!

I tried to make the image appear like a polaroid picture, by just playing around
in my fave program - publisher.
Coloured with my promarkers.
And, I used a paper I have had forever... from an old DCWV set I think.

Christmas in August...

Well. I've made a christmas card!
Over at Glitter n Sparkle this week, the challenge is "stepper cards"...
I got the gorgeous image "curious gifts"
from A Day for Daisies.

I diecut a dovecrafts shape, before stamping it, for the sentiment.
I diecut the words joy and love, too.
The hanging heart and snowflakes border are all diecut - using memory box dies.
(frostyville border and precious hearts)
The image was coloured with promarkers and sits on 3d foam
to raise it slightly from the card.
I think the backing paper is from DCWV - I've had it a looong time!
Little bits of glitter and a couple of gems finished this card,
though they are quite hard to see in the picture.

Our card for the wedding

It just occurred to me...
I showed you some other cards I made for the happy couple,
that were going to be given by other people...
but I hadn't shown you  our  card!...

I tried to make ours another different one.
The birdcage shape is from Craftwork cards.
I printed the wards and carefully diecut a tag around the wording.
I added some precious hearts (which I used on the wedding invites for them)
and Martha Stewart punched butterflies.
Ribbon secured the tag to the card and a couple of docrafts flowers with pearl, and
Marianne swirly leaf diecuts finished this card...

coloured her with my promarkers,
and added a diecut swirl, and punched and diecut flowers.
A few MS punched butterflies
finished the card, and a little embossing around the image and the backing paper.

A Latte love...

Hi again!
I have so many cards to share with you at the min...
So here is another.

My entry this month at Patties Creations.
It's "anything goes" month, and I chose "LATTE LOVE"
to make a card for my coffee loving friends, who had an anniversary coming up.

I used some papers that I got in a pack from Canada last year...
so they all coordinated and worked together, with no effort on my part :)
"Latte love" was beautifully easy to colour with my promarkers, and to cut out.
I have put it on 3d foam, to give some dimension.
A couple of MS punched butterflies,
and a dymo-label sentiment finished this card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges....

Oh my!

What a cutie!
I got the image "Oh my!" from Crafty Sentiments,
for this weeks challenge at Glitter n Sparkle...
everyone's favourite, 'anything goes!'

She's a darling image to colour and fussy cut around.
I drew a little log to sit her on and coloured all with my promarkers.
(I paper-pieced her dress)
The papers are double sided loveliness...
a 6 x 6 paper pack that I bought in Canada, at Hobby Lobby, a year ago.
I decided to bite the bullet and start using them...the colours are just lovely.I embossed some lines on each piece, as an edge, diecut a small scrap with a lacy die , inked the edges of
everything and snipped a few little penants to make bunting for the corner.
I will add a sentiment when I have decided who to send this to.
