3 little birds...

Well... How cute are these 3?

I love 'em!

They are from Sparkle n Sprinkle - the download is called "Wilson".
The cute 3 come with 2 sentiments. 7
Obviously, I have just used one on this card.
Its a great set - as you can use all the birds together like I have, or seperately.

I paper pieced each bird... colouring in their eyes, beaks and feet,
with my alcohol pens.
I added a leafy backing paper
and a bit of embossing around the edge.
When I decide who I can use send this card to, I have room at the top,
to add a name.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Baby Chick

What a little cutie I got this week
for the "anything goes" challenge at Glitter n Sparkle...

It's called "baby chick" and it's from Ppinkydolls.

It was so quick and simple to colour
with my alcohol pens,
then I added an ebossed background, a banner strip of paper
from Pink Petticoat
and some punched flowers and butterflies.

I love the colours of this card - soft and pastel.
(and the teeny little sentiment  nec.xt to the image
also came from Pink Petticoat.)

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Mmmm...chocolate!

Uh oh!

I just realised that my "schedule post" didn't work!
This post was due on my blog on July 7th , as Pattie started
her new challenge at Patties Creations.
Please don't ask me why it didn't come on - I have NO idea!

So I aplogise Pattie... late, but you know I was ready in plenty of time....
-----------------------------

One of my favourite challenges has just started at Patties Creations...
"something sweet - cake, candy, etc"

An excuse to use one of my fave images from Pattie...
'chocolate chip cookie jar.'

I coloured the image with my alcohol pens and fussy cut around it.
I punched the border and the backing paper came from
a lawn - fawn paper pack that I won a little while ago.
I loooove lawn fawn papers!
I punched the llittle butterflies and
stamped the sentiment on the little banner at the bottom.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Freedom...

Sorry we are a bit late this week!
At Glitter n Sparkle there have been some unforseen circumstances,
which have resulted in us posting a new challenge a little later than usual.
Apologies! x

Anyhow.. the challenge this week is "freedom"
and I found a great image at Fabrika Fantasy...

My idea of freedom...
having the time and place to dawdle along the beach,
with the wind in my hair.
(Although, Hubby would be with me, and our cat - Timbit!
Oh, and lots of chocolate!)

I coloured the background with my chalks, to give the
soft impression of the beach, that I wanted.
I printed out another image of the girl and coloured her with my alcohol pens
and decoupaged her back on her original place.
(just stuck down.. no 3d foam.)
The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat.
I embossed the edge of the image and
chalked the dark blue backing.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Make my monday - summer brights - 10 July
Card mania - summer fun - 30 July
Delicious doodles - beside the sea - 1 Aug

Masculine again!

At Glitter n Sparkle this week, we are being sponsored by Sasayaki Glitter.
The image I used for the "Fathers Day / Masculine" challenge, is:
Boy with Kite.

I thought he would be a really cute image to use
for a masculine card, for a little boy.
Apart from colouring with my alcohol pens,
embossing the edge and
raising the whole image on 1mm 3d foam pads,
That's all I did with this image.
I felt it needed to be kept clean and simple.

Lazy days

I have had 2 birthdays to make a card for this week...
My best friend - Craig, and a work colleague, Val.

Being the time of year it is, I thought these images would work wonderfully.

Craig is a foster carer and I think he would love
a scene like this in his life... as it's usually very chaotic for him!
His cat in this scene, would make it all the more perfect for him,
and a little more quiet and chilled for his cat, I think!
I bought some sheets of these images, but I don't remember the make...sorry!
I added some papers from my stash. The knotty paper strips accross the middle
and up the right hand side, comes
from a docrafts seaside set.
I embossed a line around the image and added a pc sentiment,
I hand made the little bunting by freehand-cutting
small triangles and using my white sakura pen to put on little patterns.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Creative fingers - atg - 26 June
Fussy and Fancy - pamper your pets - 25 June
QKR Stampede - for the guys - 16 June
Crafty animals - atg with an animal - 1 July
Through the purple haze - use an animal - 14 June

I made this card in a very similar way.
These images are just beautiful.
All the backing papers came from the docrafts seaside set -
it is quite an old set.
Infact, I think I bought it a few years ago... very, very cheaply.
Val went for her holiday in Llandudno recently, so I thought she would like this image.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Dis digi stamps - birthdays - 17 June

Crafters cafe - atg optional twist travel - 15 June

Cheeky Monkey.

are the sponsors for our challenge this week, at Glitter n Sparkle.

I got the image "cheeky monkey"...

...which I think is so so cute!

I made a sentiment on the pc, while printing off the image.
I coloured with my alcohol markers
and embossed around the edge.
The backing paper is one out of my much-too-large collection!
I punched the leaves, flowers and the butterfly.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

For the boys

"For the boys / Use a masculine image"
is this months challenge at Patties Creations.

I thought a little outside the box and went for the...
"baby clothes duckie set."

As well as all the items on the washing line,
you also get a baby grow and a baby cardi in the set!

But of course, you can use this set for a baby boy OR a girl,
depending on what colours you use.
A fabulous bargain!

I made a little washing line form thin wire, and curled the ends around a pencil.
Also, I embossed the background piece with swiss dots
and used one of my new bargain dies. ..
the scallop and stitched circle.
It's the largest one in a set of 3 scalloped circles, and then there's
a little flower die in the middle ( not used on this card).
I bought the set of 4 dies in  "The Works " for a measley £3!
I love a bargain.

Pink and one other

We have Kenny K sponsoring us this week at Glitter n Sparkle
and the image I used was: Jeannie - pretty Genie

This is such a cute image to colour, and perfect for our
"white and one other colour"
challenge.

As you can see, I chose pink as my other colour!
I fussy cut around the image and bottle after colouring with my alcohol pens
and I added some spots of white here n there too.
I embossed the background with the stars
embossing folder, which I thought would go well with Jeannie.
I coated jeannies clothing in "wink of stella" - a glitery subtle sheen,
which is beautiful, but a nightmare to photograph!
A simple sentiment (from Pink Petticoat -who sadly, is no longer trading)
finished off the card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Lollipop Munchkin

At Glitter and Sparkle this week,
the challenge is ...
"For the kids - be inspired by a kids film."

Can you guess the film I have been inspired by?

Haha...
yes... it's quite obvious.
"Wizard of Oz."

The lovely "lollipop munchkin" image is from Lacy Sunshine.
I coloured the image with my alcohol markers
and added a sweetie border... it's actually
a strip of border from a piece of 12 x 12 christmas paper!
A couple of butterflies and a pink petticaot sentiment
finished the card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

A card for a female

This month, over at Patties Creations,
the challenge is...
"for the girls."

I have been after an excuse to use this image "country shelf" for a while.
It didn't disappoint!

I used it to make a card for my Mother in Law.
(and I shall be making another version for my Mum, ]for her birthday,
in a couple of months  - as I know
she would love this too.)

I coloured the image first,
then hunted through all my papers to find matching coloured
sheets to use.
Could I find anything like, in all my stash?
No!!
So... I hand coloured some white card,
with my spectrum noirs and promarkers -
the same ones I had coloured the images with!
Am I mad? Maybe...

I popped the image on 3d pads so it would stand off the card a little.
The bottom white edge and the cat are diecut
and the bottom edge of the blue, is punched.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Great impressions - feminine - 2 June

Spring flowers

Ikes Art is the sponsor over at Glitter n Sparkle this week..
I got this gorgeous image called "hanging basket."
for our 'anything goes' challenge this week.

I coloured the image with my spectrum noirs and promarkers.
I added some white gelpen high-lights to the bracket
and a little wink of stella, too.
I embossed the background, to give the impression of trellis
and even added some corner diecuts,
to accentuate the hanging basket bracket.
(which I also covered with wink of stella - but it's hard to photograph!)
The sentiment is stamped - this came from Inkylicious
and I inked and embossed around the edges of the image and
added a hand -tied organza ribbon.

A spring card

Spring, at last!
well, this weekend, it is even feeling like summer!
Shame there is so much that needs "doing."

I was glad to take a bit of time out this week to create this card,
using FLOWER BIRD from Bugaboo,
for the weekly challenge at Glitter n sparkle.

The image was so cute, I couldn't resist...
I used my promarkers and spectrum noirs to colour the image
and backed on dotty paper which I won in a challenge a little while ago.
The purple paper
is a really good quality paper and I bought it in a paperpad
at poundland, last week! There were 4 different pads there...
and I got 2.
Great quality and a great price for 32, A5 papers!

I took the ribbon from a box of chocolates that was wrapped with it!
 A crafter wastes nothing! Lol...

Here are the challenges I would like to enter this card into:

Purple

This months challenge at Patties Creations is to use:
"Shades of purple"

I thought that 'Gymnast 2' would be the perfect image to use for this challenge.
I coloured and fussy-cut the image.

A crafty friend recently gifted me the stamp,
to stamp the sentiment.
I punched the stars out of a glittery card.
The paper was from my stash - I have had that piece for years and years, and thought
it would be perfect for this challenge!
I added a hand -doodled border with my white chalk pen.

Mothers Day!

At Glitter n Sparkle, the challenge this week is to
make a card for "Mothers Day."

So I made a card for my Mum.
I was so pleased to get an image from Sami Stamps, this week!
I got "tower of whiskers" which I fell in love with, instantly.
Perfect for my Mum, as she is definately a cat lover - much like myself!

So, I coloured all the kitties with my spectrum noirs and promarkers,
I played around with different papers for the background, for ages
as I couldn't quite get a good combination together.

The white frame was diecut, as was the "mum" and the precious tied heart,
I visited "the Range" the day after I started making this card, and saw the kitty pawprint stamp...
infact, there were 3 different sized pawprints
in the set and I thought it would go perfectly...
and at 99p, considering all the cat cards I make, I thought
it was a real bargain!
I embossed the back, light-brown strip
with the pawprints folder I bought last yr on holiday.

I think this card will make my mum smile.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

A double birthday

It's my birthday today  - and also my sisters!
So I made her this card....

I used these colours as they are her favourites.
I wanted to make a different card, and did not use an image this time.
I sentiment was free...
I think it was from desert divas.
The grey and white hearts border is a washi tape
which I picked up in Canada last year on holiday,
The flowers are from docrarfts, I just layered a few together
and glossy-accented pearls in the centres.
The banner was cut using a spellbinders edging die.
I printed out the butterflies and fussy cut them before
popping the wings onto foam pads.
The swirls are (again) from the little xcut holly leaf set I got at christmas,
at Hobbycraft.

Mermaid.

It's March - and the theme for this weeks challenge at
use some green.

From Spellbinding Stamps, I got the lovely -  Chrissy mermaid.
I coloured her with my promarkers and spectrum noir pens. I added
wink of stella to her scales and hair too.. although you cant see the glittery effect
on the photo I took.
The sentiment was a freebie from desert divas.
The embossinf folder is one I bought last year, in Hobby Lobby, USA
and the die to cut the little swirls, came in a little pack with a few holly leaves and berries,
 from Hobbycraft.
(It's a cute little xcut die - only £2 i think!)

Simple butterfly

I got a gorgeous image for this months "anything with wings"
challenge at Patties Creations this month...
I used "butterfly 1" for this card.

Because I wanted the butterfly to stand out, I
picked quite a subtle backing paper.
I think this paper came free with a Docrafts mag, a while back!

The stamped sentiment was a stamp I bought on a car boot sale, a fortnight ago -
I paid 50p for about 6 stamps and an embossing folder (which I haven't used yet).
Bargain!
I coloured the butterfly with my promarkers and spectrum noirs and
added some extra flecks of white with my sakura gel pen.
The butterfly was also fussy-cut and raised on 3d pads.
Final finishing touches included inking the edges of the paper and the banner
and embossing a clean line around the paper.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Orange and green

At Glitter n Sparkle this week, it's "anything goes" week...

I used the cute image "heart sunglasses girl" from Lemon Shortbread.
I used my promarkers and spectrum noirs to colour her.
The spotty backing paper was an off-cut and I inked the edges as well as
embossing a line down each side.
Also, the sentiment is stamped from one of my new bargain stamps... i got
5 in a pack, AND an embossing folder, for... 50p!
( from the first car boot sale of the year, which we attended last weekend)
I punched the orange flowers and used my white sakura pen
to give the a little more detail.

Love cats?

At Glitter n Sparkle blog this week, we got the challenge...
"Love is in the air..."
I got the lovely image "the cats whiskers" from All Dressed Up.

This image originally comes with the sentiment,
'looking good!'
but I needed to change that for another sentiment for this card.
(I just made my own in a text box, in publisher.)
I used a precious hearts diecut and the backing paper if from lawn fawn.
I made a little frame around the image, from the same paper as the backing paper.
I popped it up on 3d foam pads and inked all the edges.
The cute image was coloured with my promarkers.
