Easter time 2

I've made another Easter card!
This time, it's my card for Pattie's Creations.
I used a Pattie's Creations image - Easter basket.

Even though I dillied and dallied with this image for a while,
I found it a joy to colour.
I loved trying to capture the light and dark on the basket weaves and on the eggs.
I tried to give the bow a luxurious feel too (with my promarkers).
I played around with this image after colouring it. as I knew I didn't need
much more, as I wanted the main focus to be the basket.
It came to me in a flash of inspiration, all of a sudden...
I have an embossing folder that I knew would work well with this image
and - used with Kraft card - I think it worked!
I added the punched border to resemble a white fence, that I thought would
make the basket "pop" even more.
The sentiment was generated on my pc and i cut it (and inked it) to look like a little tag.
I carefully chalked the edge of the embossed piece
and embossed a clean line around the whole thing.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...

Anniversary

It's hubby's Mum n Dad's anniversary ...
and I made them this card,
as they love our cats.

The image is such a cutie! Its from "Dearie dolls".. a lady who designs digis in colour
and in black and white, and puts them free on her website.
Thankyou, Mary Ellen!
I love the characters she draws and the little scenes she makes with them.
Her cat ones are my faves, and I thought
this would be perfect for an anniversary card.
I also used a paper I got from the works - 99p for the pack,
some dovecraft paper flowers,
one of my bargain rolls of ribbon (4 rolls for 99p)
and a gorgeous precious hearts die cut.

Easter time

I thought it was about time I made a few Easter cards,
and so when the challenge of Easter cards came round at Glitter n Sparkle,
it was just the poke I needed!

I used the image "Easter Lily and cross" from Stitchy Bear.
I didn't think it needed much more on this card. I embossed the edge,
matted it on some colourful paper, added a sentiment from my pc, and a few MS
punched butterflies, cut from a slightly sparkly card.
I coloured the image with my promarkers.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges...

Shaped card

This weeks challenge, over at Glitter n Sparkle, is...
"make a shaped card"
which just happens to be what I made for
(mine and ) my sisters 40th birthday...

I played around for a long time, to make this K shape... for her name (Kathy)
I used the amazing image form "A Day for Daisies" ..Flower Maiden 1
and coloured her with my promarkers.
It just shows how versatile this image is...last week, I used it to make a mother's day card
and this week, I made her into twins!
I added my fave backing paper from Anna Marie...
the washed aqua and cream polka dot paper.
Inking the edges gave a softer feel,
while my diecut swirls and leaves were the perfect backdrop for the punched flowers
with diecut flower middles (from Memory Box), in blues and whites.
A couple of soft pink (punched) butterflies and a precious heart (from Memory Box)
finished this card.

It's my birthday!

And I have had a wonderful weekend!

Look at what I made yesterday -

How fab?!

Mum and Dad booked me, Mum and Kath (twin sis) and her daughter (Alisha)
onto a chocolate making course, as well as an
overnight night stay (with our hubbies too...all 8 of us)
in a very swanky, wonderful hotel.
I feel like I have been treated like a queen this weekend
and am so grateful to my family and friends
for making this big birthday so special.

Oh... I have to put this pic on too...
we got a cake each...

(I'm on the right hand side of both pics )
hahhah... how sweet were we?!
We even managed to "do the cake and prosecco"
at exactly the times that we were born - 10 mins apart!
xxx

I can't believe it!!!

I have made my first Christmas card!
I was inspired, when this weeks theme at Glitter n Sparkle, was...
'Glitter n Sparkle'
and I saw this image - 'reindeer' - from The East Wind.

Glitter n sparkle is sure hard to photograph!! lol...
I glittered.. the centre of the snowflakes,
the reindeer's antlers, the girls hat and gloves, the top of the sentiment and
the outside edge of the blue dotty card.
The border frame was already embossed, and from craftwork cards -
along with the sentiment.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...

Mothering Sunday

It's Mothering Sunday here, in England, on Sunday.
This is the card I made for my Mum...

The gorgeous image is from 'A Day For Daisies.'... a digi stamp company.
(I love this style of drawing...and the fact it's a digi stamp,
means I can size it to whatever size I like... and they take up no room in my craft room!)
It's just like me, when I was young!
(I coloured it with my promarkers)
I think my Mum will have a chuckle at this.
I based it all, on an apron shaped card that I cut out free-hand.
(including the pocket, which was inked around the edge and also, around the card - and pocket - I
drew some faux stitching, with my white sakura pen.)
Its hard to see in this photo, but the precious heart diecut is matt gold in colour.
The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat.
I finished the card with little ribbons threaded through each side.

CAS

Another of my all time favourite images , comes from 'A Day for Daisies' - again!
This one is called "flower maiden 1"
and is beautifully simplistic, which does not need a lot of colouring, I feel...

When I found this sentiment on my pc.... from files from long ago,
I knew that the image would be perfect, with it.
I printed the sentiment straight onto the card and added the image with 3d foam.
There is very little colouring on the image, but what I have done,
I used my promarkers for.
Finally, I added a tiny bit of sparkle on the flower centres.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges...

2 cards to share today...

The challenge over at Glitter n Sparkle this week, is to...
decorate the inside and outside of your card.

I usually leave the inside of my cards blank,
so this really was a challenge for me!
First up, is "Cynthia Fairy on birthday cake"
from The Stamping Boutique.
I coloured her with my promarkers and glittered her up - then
I fussy cut her out, with her cake and gave her a slight lift
with 3d foam, onto the embossed background.
I added a punched border, some of my bargain 99p-for-36-metres-ribbon
(from the 99p store)
and a pink petticoat sentiment ribbon which I made
by popping two sentiments close to each other along the length of my card strip.
On the inside. I stamped the present stack onto the insert and used
the colours from the front of the card, on the presents too.
I finished the inside off with a fine pink line
(where i will write my message to the birthday girl).
I have made this card for a little girl, whose birthday is next month.

I would like to enter this fairy card into the following challenges...
Fairytale stamper - anything goes - 22 March
Scribble and scrap - anything goes - 14 March
Ribbon girls - birthday - 14 March
Catch the bug - anything goes - 14 March

In the pink - for a special (little) lady - 18 March
Pennys papercrafty - one for the girls - 10 March
Paper shelter - away with the fairies - 10 March
Simon says stamp - special lady / girly - 11 March

The second image is called "waiting for you" and it's from Ppinkydolls.
I coloured it with my watercolour pencils at first, but I wasn't  keen on it,
so I got my promarkers out and added a few more colours, here and there.
I cut out (with a stanley knife) each of the
4 little panes of glass in each window and cut the whole shape out
and 3d foamed it onto more white card, backed onto the pink
then onto the original white card.
I added a sentiment (I have had on my pc for ages,)
and thought it may work well for someone leaving for university.
I decorated the inside by printing another little heart flower pot (from the image)
and fussy cutting round it, and I simply stuck it onto the insert.
I did not want the inside to be too fussy, as the outside is fairly clean and simple.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges...

Exciting news!

I have been invited to join the design team, for Patties Creations...  by Pattie herself!
I was thrilled to be asked, and jumped at the chance.
The first challenge I am designing for, is the March challenge... "use some green."
I used "tulips in vase" image, from Patties Creations...

I decided to use the fabulous image to make my Mother-In-Law
a Mother's Day card.
The backing paper is a fresh green, spotty paper,
with a leaf green embossed panel added at the bottom.
A lacy punched border and a length of green gingham ribbon lay along the side,
and I added a memory box die-cut cat (as she loves our cats)
and some Martha Stewart punched butterflies
with a teeny glittery memory box die-cut bird on top.
The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat....I love the font used.
I coloured the image with my promarkers and used a
little Glossy Accents on the vase.
I was really pleased with how this card came out.

S.A.T's are looming...

I love the image I got this week! It's from Ikes Art
and it's called "Back 2 school."
I knew it would be perfect for my niece (Alisha) as she is sitting her SAT's very soon...
and she looks very similar to the girl in the image!

I made this card for a girl I tutor every week... Niamh.
She also has a look of this girl!
I coloured it with my promarkers and mirage pens,
matted and layered with red, and script backing paper.
I added a memory box die cut black cat and a small diecut gold star at the bottom.

Friends and coffee

This week, over at Glitter n Sparkle,
the challenge is to use "black and white"
and I got this fab image from Bugaboo, called 'Girlz Coffee'.

The flowery paper at the back, is a dovecrafts paper.
The frame is a nestie (I forgot I had!!)
The little notepaper is a stamp I bought in the range recently
(with hand written sentiment on)
and the cat, bird and flowers are all diecuts by memorybox.

Another 40th...

...This time, for a male friend, who enjoys beekeeping,
running marathons and drinking coca-cola!

I tried to incorporate all his favourite things, and I also
wanted to remind him it's no ordinary birthday!
Hence, the big numbers!! hahah!
I made the 40 happy birthday myself on the pc, and VERY carefully,
cut the inside of the 40, out (with a teeny pair of scissors)
and used one piece of an old
dovecrafts paper pack for the backing. The 40 is stood
on foam squares, so is raised from the backing.
The llittle circle in the top corner is a digi image from crafty sentiments,
called birthday circles.

My first Aurora wings image!

I was thrilled, this week, to get this adorable image -"cat in flowers"
for our 'glitter n gems' challenge, over at Glitter n Sparkle.

This card has been glittered around the edge, with glamour dust, giving it a little distressed feel,
and I also hand glittered those teeny Martha Stewart punched butterflies!
(fiddly little things!!)  lol...
I really enjoyed colouring this image, which i admit, did take quite a long time!
I used  my promarkers in all my fave colours ...blues and purples to pinks and lilacs.
The gems part of the challenge have been
fit into the centre of the flowers.
A dry embossed line and a craftwork cards sentiment finished this card.

This time, I was asked to make a card for a colleagues daughter, who was about to turn 12
and loved "everything pink and girly!"

I set to work with Pink petticoat backing paper and alsorts
of pink things from my stash...
ribbon, memory box border, docrafts flowers.
I twiddled and fiddled with the sentiment for ages to get it the way I wanted it.
It was a hit, though! (phew!)

Love is in the air

What a great challenge this week, over at Glitter n Sparkle...
"Love is in the air."

I made this card using 2 Scribbles images... 'tea cup' and 'teabag'.
I drew on the hearts myself, to help the card fit in more with our theme
(and I glossy-accented the large heart).
The images were coloured with my promarkers and
mirage pens - and I fussy cut the teabag and mounted it on 2mm foam.
A pc generated sentiment and my new bargain ribbon finished this card.
(ribbon was from '99p stores'... 4 rolls of blue ribbon...
36 metres in all, for a whopping 99p!
I  also bought pinks, and a white n black pack too.)

A commission for a doctor

I was asked by a colleague, to make a card for her doctor, who is retiring.
He has helped the family a lot over the years,
and she wanted to give him a personal, heart-felt thankyou.
So she asked me to make him a  card.

I really enjoyed designing and making this card.
It just seemed to fall into place and fit together so quickly.
I hand drew and cut the pieces ...the collar, the tie and the pocket.
I coloured the tie with my promarkers and
made the 'doctors' badge on my pc.
The clipboard is stamped with a new stamp I bought in
The Range a couple of weeks ago, and I handwrote the sentiment straight on.
The final touch was a stethoscope.
I didn't even draw the shape...I just cut silver, black and white card pieces
and stuck them altogether.
Altogether, once I had the idea in place, this card ended up being a quickie!
PS... my colleague was thrilled with it!!!  :)

Our 40th year.

My friend turned 40 this week - oooh, its a big year for me and my friends.
So, I picked Crafty Sentiments 'Birthday Circles' to use on her card...

The Birthday sentiments are actually a set of 4.
This is one of them.
I cut the middle out so that I could fit the 40 inside.
I didn't want to put a massive number on her card, but wanted it to blend in, subtley.
I found that cutting the middle from the circle, gave it a whole new look...and you could use
anything in the middle, as I also used a decoupaged duo of flowers from the backing paper.
The 4 candles symbolise her decades.
(I drew on the stripes and dots myself with a white sakura pen)
Her name looks white, but its actually pink in real life.
(Cut with Sizzix Wingo Zingo font)

I'm a guest designer, over at...

Lacy Sunshine!!!!  .. I'm so excited! :)
I was thrilled when they asked me and I got this image "Rory spreading love"
to use for this challenge - 'Include a heart.'

I wanted to keep the card quite simple,
as the image is so lovely, I really didn't think it needed much more.
So... I coloured it with my promarkers,
added a little glossy accents, Martha Stewart punched butterflies,
a little dry embossing round the edge and then matted onto a lovely blue backing paper
and to finish, I hand-drew and hand-cut the straight side into this fancy shape.

If the shoe fits....

Oh, I love this weeks theme over at Glitter n Sparkle - Pearls and swirls.
I used "Pearls n leather" from Stitchy stamps.

I used my promarkers to colour the image -
and I dotted on all those little teeny swirls...freehand!
Liquid pearls were used to fill the pearl necklace, which gave a lovely effect.
I made the sentiment on the pc
and backed it all on some paper I got, in a paper pack, in 'The Works'.
A few pearls here and there around the edge, finished this card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...

Summer's here...

Well, not weather-wise, but card-wise, I mean. :)
I would say that most of the digi images over at Pink Gems are cute...
so was thrilled this week to find they were sponsoring our "cute!" challenge, over at
Glitter n Sparkle... I chose "beach hut 2"

I could have gone for many, many other cute images, but I just loooove beach huts...
(they are one of my favourite things ever!)
and thought this was one of the cutest I have ever seen!
I didn't really plan the colours that I was going to use -
they just happened.
I think I would use different colours next time.
The backing paper is from a sea themed dovecrafts set of 6 x 6 papers.
A bit of twine finished the card, with a sentiment from Pink Petticoat.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges...

Pink for a girl...

The card I made recently, is using a really cute image from
Di's digi downloads - called 'Mouse on the moon.'
Its just perfect for baby cards...and I made it for some friends -
who are (very soon!) due to have their little girl.
(I will personalise it when the time comes, with her name, date and weight.)
As a handy coincidence, the challenge over at Glitter n Sparkle, this week
is to "use some pink."  :)

I coloured the very sweet image with my promarkers
and mat and layered it a few times, inking the edges in a soft pink each time.
The paper was from my stash... no idea what pack it came from...sorry.
The super cute hanging hearts are diecut from a memory box die.
The new, swirly heart border strip ,ready-punched , was from a car boot sale, recently.
2 Dovecraft pink flowers and some pearls finished this sweet card.

Card for a friend

The challenge over at Glitter and Sparkle this week, is
"Anything goes"
and I  just got this super cute image form Lucy Sunshine, called "Jillian."

The first thing I chose to go with this image, was the sentiment.
Then I embossed a piece of pick card with my newest embossing folder,
which I absolutely love!
The border is my new one - well. I rediscovered the memory box "charlotte" border die
which I got for a couple of pounds on a car boot sale over summer -
and I completely forgot I had it!
(It cuts beautifully)
I finished off with a thin organza ribbon, and some MS punched butterflies.... punched from white sparkly card - that is very difficult to photograph! ;)
