Hedgehog

 Hi guys!

I've popped on to share a new card I made for our challenge at...

The Colour Crazy Craft challenge:

This time, we were sponsored by Createful Heart Designs

and I used the image: Harvey Hedgehog.

I coloured it with me alcohol markers and promarkers.

The papers were all freebies with magazines over the years,

I punched all the butterflies with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch and

the swirls and leaves are a diecut, which I split apart and put back together in this arrangement.

The sentiment was a freebie a long time ago.

Halloween cats

I saw this Knitty Kitty image ,
over at The Colour Crazy Challenge
and decided I had to join in with this weeks challenge!
This cute image is called 'Kit or Treat'.

I coloured the image with my promarkers
and other alcohol pens before looking through my stash
for some halloweeny -looking papers.
I took a page from 3 different packs to create this look and inked the edges of each piece.
Some diecut stars, a hand-written "BOO!" and some little
 coloured sticky-dots finished this card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Pink / Grey Combo

This time, over at The Colour Crazy Challenge,
we are being sponsored by "The Paper Shelter."
I used their gorgeous image:
for our anything-goes challenge, this time.

I really enjoyed using this image -
I started by colouring her with my promarkers.
I knew I had a stash of pink and grey papers and thought they are
a great colour-combo for this sassy lady!
On the little tag, I shall write a sentiment when I have
figured out who this card is for.
I inked the edges of all the papers...some in grey, some in pink.
A punched glittery star and some Martha Stewart punched butterflies
finished off this card.

Autumn / Fall

At Pattie's Creations this month,
the challenge is to make a Fall / Autumn card.
I got the image" Fall latte mugs" to use (it comes with
2 mug images, but I only used one. The other image has a pumpkin head on the sleeve.)
The "Candycorn cupcake" is a freebie image that Pattie gave away last year,
which I managed to snag.

I coloured the candycorn cupcake with my alcohol pens ,
aswell as the sleeve and lid of the latte cup.
The actual cup itself, is paper-pieced.
I dry-embossed the edge of the card before adding the backing papers,
a cute little sentiment from Pink Petticoat (sadly, no longer trading)
and a beautiful, punched butterfly.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Quirky Parrot

This challenge, over at The Colour Crazy Challenge,
our sponsor is: Ike's Art.
I got this fun image called "quirky parrot"
I love the way his head is cocked to the side!

I coloured him with my promarkers and other alcohol pens, and used a white sakura pen
for the feathers on this belly.
I diecut a frame for him to sit along, and mounted him onto 3d foam for a bit of dimension.
The flowers and leaves were punched, and a couple of the flowers are also on 3d foam.
The backing paper is from my collection:
a 6 x 6 paper pack called "new leaf"
and the sentiment circle was a freebie form the web...yonks ago!
(possibly 'desert divas' - lots of freebies!)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges...

Lighthouse

At Patties Creations this month, we have the ever popular challenge: "anything goes!"
I used the image called 'lighthouse 2020'...

I coloured the image (which is he lighthouse, little attached building
and the rocks too) with my promarkers and
other alcohol pens.
I tried to colour the bit underneath the rocks, so it resembled a rocky beach.
so dotted with lots of different greys.
I made the sea, by colouring a trip of card with different blues, then tearing the edge
to appear like the waves. I added
a few more strokes with my white sakura pen
for the waves in the sea.
The backing paper comes form a paper pack of card I bought a while ago.
I dry embossed the edge and
stamped a sentiment along the top,
as well as dry embossing the edge of the base white card.

Patchwork cards

Hi! thought I would share with you some
new "patchwork" cards I have made.
I just thought these were a bit different and
something I have been wanting to try for a while.

This first card is a regular pattern patchwork card...

It is made of 9 squares of paper, cut from Pink Petticoat papers.
Each square has been inked around the edges and a little faux-stitching
has been added with a fineliner pen.
I dry embossed a simple line around the edge of the squares.
I stamped the sentiment and added a couple of punched butterflies,
with a little sparkly gem on each.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
The sisterhood of crafters - sentiment  focal point - 8 Sept
Crafty Calendar - atg - 1 Sept
Di's digi challenge - lots of squares - 30 Aug
Creations in pink -  mainly pink - 15 Sept

This second patchwork card is more of an irregular patchwork, made for my friend.

She loves these muted, neutral colours.
I took a couple of papers that worked well together
and careful cut a different sized piece from each paper.
It was trickier than I thought, to get all the pieces to match up
while making a patchwork effect.
Like the last card, I inked the edges of each piece and used a brown fineliner pen to
draw some faux-stitching around the edge of each piece.
Again, the sentiment was stamped and punched butterflies were added.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simon says stamp - atg - 3 Sept
Paper funday - atg - 2 Sept
Sparkles - use at least 3 patterned papers - 15 Sept

Summertime

Hi! Hope you are all well!
I'm sharing my card for the Colour Crazy Challenge...
with our (As usual) anything goes theme,
I used "4 block tulip square " from Bugaboo.

This is such a versatile image.
I coloured it with my promarkers and cut out each square.
Placing it in the middle of my card, I cut a piece from the middle of the green
paper, to make a frame.
I added diecut corners, a diecut cat and some punched butterflies.
A few white dots, with my white sakura pen, finished this card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Diecut Divas - flowers - 1 Sept

Beach time

Pattie, at Patties Creations, is challenging us with...
"Beach / Under the sea"
this month....
I took the beach element and used her image "Beach Cabana Trio".

It was a simple image to colour... with my promarkers and other alcohol pens.
I used the pointilism technique to try and make the sand look textured.
(Lots of little dots, in slightly different colours)
I added a sea-line, behind the sand, as I felt it needed sea too.
A little strip of Dovecraft paper sits above and below the image,
with an embossed line the other side of the paper: one on top, on along the bottom.
I found a spotty paper, which I cut a couple of bunting flags from.
The birds are lovely little diecuts.

FRIENDS cards for friends

I have a few friends who are big FRIENDS fans!
I had a go at making a few cards for them on that theme...

For Kirsty's card, I printed off some images
and popped a few of them on 3d foam.
I downloaded the FRIENDS font
for the wording on the card.

For Craig's card, I thought about the famous framed spy-hole they have in the door.
(  "The police don't visit" - is a private joke! )
I 3d-foamed the central perk logo at the bottom.
I downloaded the FRIENDS font for the wording.

Happy birthday boy

Over at The Colour Crazy Challenge this time,
we are being sponsored by the popular: Paper Shelter.
This cute little image is called "Casual boy".

I coloured him with my promarkers and alcohol pens
and ran an embossing folder through my bigshot, to make the background.
The frame was diecut too, and the stars and sentiment! I like how this card came together.

Ice cream Trio

Pattie, over at Patties Creations, is challenging us this month, with
"Anything goes!"
You can use any hand-coloured image for this challenge.
She has a whole range of fabulous images in her digi store
and I used "ice cream trio" for this card.

My Father-in-law LOVES ice-cream.
This is a card for him, for Fathers day.
Neopolitan in particular...that's why I used the
3 colour here, for the flavours: vanilla, strawberry and chocolate.
The Image comes as plain double-scoop ie creams: I added the toppings of
strawberry sauce, hundreds and thousands, and a cherry - myself!
The top scoop of each ice cream has been mounted on 3d foam for a bit of height.
The red / white gingham (I thought) looked like a little napkin behind the cones.

Retro geek

Dr Digi are our sponsors this time, over at the
I got a fabulous set of sentiment images... Comic sentiments.

The set has 6 uncoloured images as well as a bunch of coloured images!
I chose to use 2 (uncoloured) images to make 2 cards.
For this first card, I chose to colour the image with my promarker alcohol markers
and I used a fab retro backing paper behind it.
A small red border underneath the sentiment and some balloons fussy-cut
from a piece of docrafts paper, finished this card.
Oh, I wanted a clean, crisp edge around each of the  parts of this card,
so carefully edged each element with a dark brown promarker.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Cute card challenge - masculine - 18 June
I love promarkers - atg / for a boy - 23 June
Digi choosday - atg - 19 June

For this card,
I fussy-cut around the sentiment, after colouring it with my alcohol markers
and mounted it onto a black / red / white strip combo.
I found the retro backing in my stash -
it is actually a sticky-backed sheet!
I have no clue where I got this from, only that I've had it for a long time
and I thought it was retro enough to go with the coloured sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Fathers Day

At Patties Creations this month,
we challenge you with:  "Things that fly."
I used the image "Hot air balloon" and the freebie hot air balloon.

I was really struggling to make a sky background for this card.
Then my hubby asked if he could use my desk in my craft room
to do some encaustic art.
He's not done any for ages, but seeing as we have had a fair bit of time at home and done plenty
of jobs, he thought he would have a play.
Encaustic art (incase you don't know) is
painting with wax on an iron! I'm rubbish at it!
He has all the stuff and I cleared my table:
on the premise that he made me some background pieces.

So here is the background he made for me. Perfect for sitting the
balloons on, which I coloured with my promarkers and
other alcohol pens. I dry embossed the edge of the card.

I love this card - and that its a combination of both
of our creative skills.
I'm giving this to Dad for Fathers Day.

Fairy wishes

Hi!
At the Colour Crazy Challenge this week, we have the sponsor
this time, for our "anything goes" challenge.

This lovely image is called " starry wish".
I coloured it with my promarkers and alcohol pens
and diecut around the image, letting the edge of the wings sit just outside the diecut.
The paper in the background is a freebie that came with a magazine some time ago.
I inked the edges of the diecut and the punched stars with
4 colours... to create a fantasy / rainbow feel.
A finishing touch I like and used on this card
is dry embossing round the edge of the backing paper.
The diecut shape is lifted slightly, as I mounted it on 3d foam.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Lil patch of crafty friends - atg - 6 June

Never forget you are loved

Over at Patties Creations this month,
we have the ever popular challenge: anything goes.
I used the image "daffodil circle" to create my card.

With my promarker pens, I coloured the green leaves and daffodils and added a
stickles glitter centre to each one.
I added some extra leaves to the image, and
die-cut some swirls and leaves.
I stamped the sentiment on and punched some butterflies from spotty card.

I made this card to send to my (Almost 98 year old) Grandma,
who lives in a carehome.
I wanted to send her a message to tell her we are thinking about her,
in such strange times, when we can't be together, as a family.
I also sent a little note of thanks - to the staff who are working tirelessly,
to care for my Grandma and the other residents.

Birthday baking

I made this card recently, for a friend's birthday.
She's a cake baker: who loves cats!

The sentiment was computer generated.
The cat is a diecut.
I shaped the bottom of the image so it looked like the edge of a shelf.
I put glossy-accents on the cherries and
a-wink-of-stella on the fruit-pie, then embossed the edges of the card.
I thought this fitted better on the kraft card, rather than a white card-base.

Time for tea

Apologies!
I'm a bit late with this card  it should have been on yesterday.
I am completely to pot with what day we are on...

This challenge, over at the Colour Crazy Challenge,
we are being sponsored by one of my favourites: Knitty kitty designs
I got this lovely image: Kit T and cake.

I paper-pieced the teapot, cup and bunting
and coloured the rest with my alcohol markers.
The "mum" is actually little stickers, which I thought would work well
with the image - and the sentiment at the bottom is from my computer.
The backing paper was from my stash and i punched the butterflies
and diecut the "precious heart" by memorybox.
This is a larger, square 8 x 8 inch card, for my Mum.

Happy birthday to Ewe!

Pattie's Creations is giving us a very popular
challenge this month - Birthdays!

I used her new image "Baa to you" ...

The image includes both sheep.
I love the shocked look of the face of the one on the left!
I paper pieced the background, stamped the houses
and trees and fussy-cut around them to add them to the scene.
Embossing around the edge of the whole thing
and hand-drawn faux stitching, finished this card.

I would like to add this into the following challenges:

Home Sweet Home!

Our challenge this time over at The Colour Crazy challenge
is being sponsored by Createful heart stamps.
I used the image "home sweet home" which was lovely to colour.

I used my alcohol markers to colour and added a sentiment from
Pink Petticoat (sadly, no longer trading).
A few punched butterflies and some spotty paper for the background
(along with a few embossed lines) finished this card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
