A card for a friend

We got another new sponsor over at The Colour Crazy Challenge!
I loved using this super-cute image from Hetty Clare.
Its called "flowers for you".
It reminded me of a friend of mine, so I have sent it to her, for her birthday.

I dry-embossed a simple frame, in a square shape around the image and
fussy-cut it, so that the girls head stuck out in the top corner.
I used the colours and patterned backing paper which I thought my friend would like.
The sentiment was stamped on an off-cut of card
and I coloured the image with my promarkers.
The middle of each sunflower has a blob of glossy accents on.
I added a little hand-drawn faux stitching around the edge of the frame
and dry embossed around the edge of the card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Crafts Galore Encore - atg - 1 April

Cup of hugs

The favourite "anything goes" challenge
is the theme this month at Patties Creations.
I got the image called "Latte with whipped cream"
and made this card...

I decided to do a rainbow whipped cream with my promarkers,
and I found the 'hugs' sentiment on my pc.
(I must have had it for a very long time, because I don't remember
where or when I got it !)
After colouring the mug and saucer, I used my white sakura pen to
add a little pattern to the rim of the mug and saucer.
The backing paper is from a little paper pack from 'The Works'
and the other is kraft card - I embossed the piece on the right, in my bigshot.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Home sweet home

At the Colour Crazy Challenge, there's a new sponsor this week:-
Angie Blom. I love the images we got to work with
and knew I had to join in with this challenge!

These house images come from an absolutely adorable digi stamp set called "homes."
I just fell in love with these little houses...and you get so many!
I have only used 4 but you get loads more
(I think there are 9 in total) and they can be used in so many diferent ways!
This is a really versatile set and well worth having in your stash.
I used 4 images on my card and coloured them with my promarkers.
The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat (no longer trading)
and I faux stitched around the edge
before finishing off with a few dry embossed lines along the top and bottom.

A new sponsor for us!

We have a new sponsor to us at The Colour Crazy Challenge blog this week,
I got this gorgeous image, called "Mom is at home"

I knew straight away that I wanted to make my Mum's mothers day card with this image,
as it reminded me so much of her with my niece ( a few years ago!)
and I coloured the two playful kitties to be like my kits now.

I coloured the image with my promarkers and a few other alcohol pens.
(The kits are supposed to look like our two kits.)
I left the chair until last, as I didn't want it to dominate the image
so decided to colour it light grey, then added a simple dotted pattern to it,
with some teeny-weeny faux stitching around the edges.
I popped the image on a fancy rectangle diecut and a strip of backing paper.
The sentiment was stamped from a set I have had for yonks.

I would like to enter this card to the following challenges:

With love

At Patties Creations this moth, we would like you to use the theme,
"love, love, love."
For this challenge, I chose to use Pattie's "Gerber Daisy".

A simply beautiful image, I wanted to keep this card simple too.
I coloured the daisy so carefully, with my alcohol markers. (Promarkers)
Its difficult to see, but I also coloured the water and
sprinkled on a little ultra fine glitter on the water to give it a little shimmer.
The backing is just kraft card,
which I put cut into strips (and embossed the two smaller pieces) and
drew on some faux stitching in white sakura pen.
I cut the little tag myself and hand-wrote the sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Spring soon

Well, what a year so far....

We are back in lockdown - again. - ish.

I'm not going into it, but let's just say that last time we locked down, we had max 38 children

in school, and this time there are 130.

All available staff are in. It's crazy. It's stressful. It needs to change!

Now to get on with my card before I blow my top...

A lovely image called Heart of Spring by Ching Chou Kuik.

I coloured her with my promarkers and wanted to keep her simple.

So I inked the edges and dry embossed around the image.

A few punched butterflies and a stamped sentiment finished this card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Happy new year!

 Happy 2021!!
It's got to better than 2020, hasn't it?!

Thought I'd start off the year with a card I made,
using Patties Creations image: Party Gnomes. ..

It was a lovely image to colour.
I just used a few flesh colours for the gnomes noses,
and red, green and blue combinations for their clothes.
A darker blue balloon (also used glossy accents on this one)
and a yellow star finished this image off,
along with a computer generated sentiment.
I dry embossed the edges of the card, as I always
thinks this gives a "finished" quality and I dotted around the edge of the image.
(I almost turned this into faux-stitching, but stopped myself at the last minute.)

This card is for a man, so didn't want to put too many
added extras to the image.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Pink Gem - anything goes - 12 Jan
Addicted to CAS - Emboss - 15 Jan
Craft rocket - for the boys / men - 31 Jan

Kitty Snowman

This is one of Patties newer images, at Patties Creations
and one of the mages I have used to make a card this challenge.
Its's so cute, and called "Kitty Snowman."
I was delighted, as I suggested this image to Pattie a while ago,
and she came up with this little delight!

It has made such a cute card for my sister and her family.
I "coloured" the kitty snowman, using a very fine glue pen
and ultra fine glitter - to give the impression of glistening snow.
I used my alcohol markers to colour the scarf and twiggy arms.
The robin was stamped - it was free in a small set of stamps with a magazine a few years ago!
The banner was also stamped and the black cat is a diecut.
I punched the little holly leaves in the bottom corner and added some
liquid pearls berries.
The sentiment was stamped, using a set I bought on a car boot sale last year,
at a bargain price! (it was only pence for an A4 sheet of christmas stamps!!)
I glittered the edges of the spotty paper and the card at the bottom.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

JOY (1 & 2)

I was thrilled to be using these images this month too, for the Patties Creations challenge...

The image is called "joy" and you get 2 (slightly different) images!

Joy (1)...

I knew straight away, that I wanted to "colour" this JOY in glitter!
I used a very fine glue pen, to colour inside the J and Y...then sprinkled on ultra-fine gold glitter.
I carefully cut out the middle of the O and popped the candy paper behind.
The snowflake backing paper ( from Dovecrafts) was inked and embossed around the edges.
I finished this card with a few punched holly leaves with liquid pearls berries
and a stamped and coloured robin (with my promarkers) which came as a freebie
with a magazine some time ago.
I really like the way this card came out!

I would like to enter this to the following challenges:

2 Craft crazy critters - Christmas - 26 Dec
Crafts galore encore - atg Christmas - 31 Dec
Crafty animals - atg with an animal - 27 Dec
Passion for promarkers  - Christmas - 8 Dec

Joy (2)

This version, is a slightly chunkier type and I wanted to keep this one in traditional
christmas colours.
I coloured the chunky font in my alcohol pens, adding the little
yellow tips and stripey bottoms to the J and Y.
The patterned paper behind, is a Dovecraft paper.
The holly leaves are punched, with liquid pearls berries.

I would like to add this into the following challenges:

Catch the bug - atg - 13 Dec

Hi all!

Where has the time gone?  We're almost in December!

I'm hee to show you the card I made for our challenge at the Colour Crazy Challenge.

This time, we have been sponsored by "All dressed up" digi stamps and I got an image called "Christmas Present." It's super-cute!

I started by glittering the wings and ribbon on the presies, with ultra-fine glitter.

The rest of the fairy and presies were coloured with my promarkers.

I fussy-cut around the image and popped her onto a frame I diecut and embossed.

The sentiment is stamped and I added a little glittered diecut snowflake.

Flowers and cacti

This month, Pattie - over at Pattie's Creations
is challenging us with the most popular challenge : anything goes.
This image is a fairly new one, called "Flower Shoppe"

After colouring this lovely image with my promarkers and other alcohol pens,
and a little splash of glossy accents, I didn't think it needed a lot more.
So, I decided to make a panel behind the image, which I embossed with flowers.
I added a few diecut birds and butterflies.

Hedgehog

 Hi guys!

I've popped on to share a new card I made for our challenge at...

The Colour Crazy Craft challenge:

This time, we were sponsored by Createful Heart Designs

and I used the image: Harvey Hedgehog.

I coloured it with me alcohol markers and promarkers.

The papers were all freebies with magazines over the years,

I punched all the butterflies with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch and

the swirls and leaves are a diecut, which I split apart and put back together in this arrangement.

The sentiment was a freebie a long time ago.

Halloween cats

I saw this Knitty Kitty image ,
over at The Colour Crazy Challenge
and decided I had to join in with this weeks challenge!
This cute image is called 'Kit or Treat'.

I coloured the image with my promarkers
and other alcohol pens before looking through my stash
for some halloweeny -looking papers.
I took a page from 3 different packs to create this look and inked the edges of each piece.
Some diecut stars, a hand-written "BOO!" and some little
 coloured sticky-dots finished this card.

Pink / Grey Combo

This time, over at The Colour Crazy Challenge,
we are being sponsored by "The Paper Shelter."
I used their gorgeous image:
for our anything-goes challenge, this time.

I really enjoyed using this image -
I started by colouring her with my promarkers.
I knew I had a stash of pink and grey papers and thought they are
a great colour-combo for this sassy lady!
On the little tag, I shall write a sentiment when I have
figured out who this card is for.
I inked the edges of all the papers...some in grey, some in pink.
A punched glittery star and some Martha Stewart punched butterflies
finished off this card.

Autumn / Fall

At Pattie's Creations this month,
the challenge is to make a Fall / Autumn card.
I got the image" Fall latte mugs" to use (it comes with
2 mug images, but I only used one. The other image has a pumpkin head on the sleeve.)
The "Candycorn cupcake" is a freebie image that Pattie gave away last year,
which I managed to snag.

I coloured the candycorn cupcake with my alcohol pens ,
aswell as the sleeve and lid of the latte cup.
The actual cup itself, is paper-pieced.
I dry-embossed the edge of the card before adding the backing papers,
a cute little sentiment from Pink Petticoat (sadly, no longer trading)
and a beautiful, punched butterfly.

Quirky Parrot

This challenge, over at The Colour Crazy Challenge,
our sponsor is: Ike's Art.
I got this fun image called "quirky parrot"
I love the way his head is cocked to the side!

I coloured him with my promarkers and other alcohol pens, and used a white sakura pen
for the feathers on this belly.
I diecut a frame for him to sit along, and mounted him onto 3d foam for a bit of dimension.
The flowers and leaves were punched, and a couple of the flowers are also on 3d foam.
The backing paper is from my collection:
a 6 x 6 paper pack called "new leaf"
and the sentiment circle was a freebie form the web...yonks ago!
(possibly 'desert divas' - lots of freebies!)

Lighthouse

At Patties Creations this month, we have the ever popular challenge: "anything goes!"
I used the image called 'lighthouse 2020'...

I coloured the image (which is he lighthouse, little attached building
and the rocks too) with my promarkers and
other alcohol pens.
I tried to colour the bit underneath the rocks, so it resembled a rocky beach.
so dotted with lots of different greys.
I made the sea, by colouring a trip of card with different blues, then tearing the edge
to appear like the waves. I added
a few more strokes with my white sakura pen
for the waves in the sea.
The backing paper comes form a paper pack of card I bought a while ago.
I dry embossed the edge and
stamped a sentiment along the top,
as well as dry embossing the edge of the base white card.

Patchwork cards

Hi! thought I would share with you some
new "patchwork" cards I have made.
I just thought these were a bit different and
something I have been wanting to try for a while.

This first card is a regular pattern patchwork card...

It is made of 9 squares of paper, cut from Pink Petticoat papers.
Each square has been inked around the edges and a little faux-stitching
has been added with a fineliner pen.
I dry embossed a simple line around the edge of the squares.
I stamped the sentiment and added a couple of punched butterflies,
with a little sparkly gem on each.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
The sisterhood of crafters - sentiment  focal point - 8 Sept
Crafty Calendar - atg - 1 Sept
Di's digi challenge - lots of squares - 30 Aug
Creations in pink -  mainly pink - 15 Sept

This second patchwork card is more of an irregular patchwork, made for my friend.

She loves these muted, neutral colours.
I took a couple of papers that worked well together
and careful cut a different sized piece from each paper.
It was trickier than I thought, to get all the pieces to match up
while making a patchwork effect.
Like the last card, I inked the edges of each piece and used a brown fineliner pen to
draw some faux-stitching around the edge of each piece.
Again, the sentiment was stamped and punched butterflies were added.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simon says stamp - atg - 3 Sept
Paper funday - atg - 2 Sept
Sparkles - use at least 3 patterned papers - 15 Sept

Summertime

Hi! Hope you are all well!
I'm sharing my card for the Colour Crazy Challenge...
with our (As usual) anything goes theme,
I used "4 block tulip square " from Bugaboo.

This is such a versatile image.
I coloured it with my promarkers and cut out each square.
Placing it in the middle of my card, I cut a piece from the middle of the green
paper, to make a frame.
I added diecut corners, a diecut cat and some punched butterflies.
A few white dots, with my white sakura pen, finished this card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
