I went to a craft show...

...on the weekend and bought some lovely lovely stuff!
Including these gorgeous frames!!!

These ones are embossed with flowers in the centre...

and these are embossed with hearts in the centre.

They are quite difficult to photograph! ;)
Anyway - the reason I have put thes eon is because last time I used them on  a card, loads of people asked me where i got them...
so I picked up a couple more sets than I wanted.
So, if you want to buy a pack of these (come in a pack , white, 8 of the same, but I guess I could do 4 and 4 or whatever...) from me, just email me!

I have been making some cards this week... just had no time to put any on here.
I started my christmas cards!!! yey!!!!!

embossed round the edge,
a craftwork cards sentiment and punched butterflies.

I would like to enter this into the the challenges..

Thankyou...

...to my docrafts buddy, Chris,
who has diecut some of her windows for me!!!

I have been considering buying this window die for a little while now,
but I really wanted to know what size it was and to make sure I could do plenty
with it, before I bought one.
Well, Chris cut a few for me, with shutters and window boxes.
I love em!!!
This top card is cream based, with a papermania embossing folder.
I made some "curtains," punched a few butterflies and added my bird on a branch.

Here's another...in white, this time. I made  a little blind for this window, which I rather like!
The leaves in the window box are made for a few branches from the bird-on-branch,
as I didn't have a decent sized leaf to work with the window box.

I would like to add this to the challenges...
Digi Doodle shop  - wings and things.
Totally papercrafts  -  frame it!  (mine isn't so obvious, but it's the "window frame!")
Challenge up your life - everything goes.
Charisma cardz  - flora and fauna

turquoise and bird collection

I'm loving the bird die and was having a play this weekend...with the free papers
that came with the pampered pets on the Docrafts mag, a while back.

I shaped and embossed the bottom of the card,
used my die to cut the main shape and carefully cut round that in another piece of white,
inked all edges in gold.
Finally I added the bird (new die) and punched butterflies.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges...
Dream Valley Challenges - die cuts and punches
Divas by Design -   for a female
Catered Crop -  white

This card isn't quite finished yet as I'm going to put
a sentiment on the bottom somewhere...just haven't found the right sentiment yet!
(you can't see so well on the pic, but I have embossed around the panel..
I think it "finishes" a card like this.)

This is not a great picture I'm afraid...
I used martha stewart borders top and bottom.
Also a sentiment stamp...though it looks blurry at the bottom, it's ok and
quite readable in real life.

I love my new die.

Its so lovely...I have used it with pretty pinks and creams this time...

So, I made this card first, then sat looking at it, thinking....
"is there enough on it? "
and I couldn't decide.
Now though, seeing the photo, I like it...

But, a few hours ago, I thought it needed more.
So I added more....

 (close up)

But I think I like this one too.
Well, this is how it looks now!
I added some punched flowers. leaves and butterflies...
and the odd gem here and there!

Which do you like best?
xx

I am putting this in the challenges...
Digi Doodle Shop (things with wings)
In the Pink  (fifty shades of..pink)
Scrapbook sisters (things with wings)
Can you dig it (bird is the word)
The poodles parlour (use die cuts)

Summers Butterflies

I'm on a roll! ....

 A close-up of the card.

The full card...
I made this with a digi paper, and pc sentiment.
I added the punched flowers, matted the image and embossed a border
behind the image.
I'm going to add this one to the L.I.M challenge...
so I've entered two now! wow! go me  :)

I would also like to enter this in:
Scrapbook sisters  (wings and things)

Cor.. 2 blogposts in one day!

I got a new die, and...I love it!!

Its a marianne creatables die.
I think it's fab!!!
I cut this one out in black card, and embossed it.
The background was made a couple of days ago by my  lovely hubby...
It's "encaustic art" - which is wax painted on, with an iron!
I am hopeless at it, but Hubby is great at it...(luckily for me!)
I just added a few punched butterflies.

I am entering this into the :
That Craft Place - things with wings.

Thanks for any comments!

Blues and greens...

Im having another go at the L.I.M challenge...
2 weeks on the trot, now!

 A close-up of my card..

This is my card using "blues and greens"
as is the challenge this week.
I used a digi paper, and a stamp I have had forever,
with little silver gems here and ther and I punched the little black butterflies.
I added the sentiment on my pc,
and embossed round the edge of the image, leaving a little gap.
This looks so lovely in real life!
Thanks for any comments  xx

I would also like to entre this card in:
That craft place (things with wings)

New home cards

A new embossing folder... and an old stamp
(I'd forgotten I had it!!)

I made two similar cards with my new papermania embossing folder,
which looks like bricks.
I thought it would be perfect for a couple of new home...
 which I decided to make.
I forgot I had this stamp, and altered it a bit, to use it differently.. twice!
Each time, I coloured the image with my watercolour pencils.

A couple of commissions...

I was asked to make a couple of cards recently...

This card is made using a Debbie Mumm image which I bought from
PC Crafter yonks and yonks ago. I must use them more often!
I simply decoupaged some of the flowers,
glossy accented other flowers, added a punched butterfly,
matted onto cream pearlised card, then embossed a simple box around the image.

It's hard to see on this card, I embossed the bottom (white part) with a lovely
flower and leaves pattern. I added a swirl, some flowers with a butterfly,
and a small piece of "subway art", with the recipients name.
(It looks better irl than in this pic)

Oops... gotta go.... the cat's just brought "something" in ... I can tell by his meow!!!.....

My first EVER challenge!!! ( Less is more )

I have never joined in any kind of "challenge" before, and thought while it's
summer hols, now would be the perfect time,...
than I saw the L I M  challenge and loved the sketch....

So.. I had a play and came up with this...

I used Pink Petticoat paper, a HOTP stamp for the sentiment,
and some punched, silver butterflies, with a little silver gem on each wing.
The border is a Martha Stewart punch.
Hopefully, "Less is more" enough!!!

I have also just discovered another blog, which I haven;t seen before and their challenge this week is for a "monochrome" card, so I'm entering in that one, too!   ; )

Thanks for any comments you might leave!!

I love the bottoms....

...of these cards. I saw them a while ago on qvc (from
craftwork cards, I think!) and thought..."I can do those myself!"
...So I did!! ....

I made this card for my mother-in-law as her birthday is coming up.
I made the embossed background myself, with my helix board. (dead cheap from the works!)
I cut the label shape on my big shot, with my newish x-cut dies, and chalked
just inside the edges. The cat and cushion are decoupaged.
Punched flowers, leaves and butterflies finished this card.

I didn't make this for anyone in particular...
I bought some lovely stampin up stamps at a car boot sale a while ago and finally got round
to stampin and colourin a few...and this is one of those stamps!
I added a martha stewart punched border and embossed the background myself.
Thanks for looking!

I've made some cards at last!

Long time, no blog!
I haven't had a lot of mojo recently,
but I think I'm having a come-back now...

I was asked to make this card...
for a 14 yr old boy who  loves footie and almost any sport.
You can't tell, but I have used glossy accents over his name and age, so they stand out a bit.
I'm told he loves the cards I make, so lets hope this is no different!

I also made this for a colleagues mum...
" I need it to say Mam, and have shoes and handbags on please!"
I used one of my first kraft cards for this one as I love pink and brown together.
The wide, gold ribbon is organza.
I printed the words on the image, from my pc and added
some gems and a fancy edge to finish the card.
Thanks for looking and any comments you might leave. xx

Stacks of presents!

Recently, I have found myself making a lot of baby cards...

...and have found myself running out of baby cards in my card box.
So this afternoon, I have made this little selection...
All using the nitwits bears, my own home-made little labels
(some left blank so I can add on a name, if needed),
and of course, some baby type papers,
along with some punched borders I bought at the boot sale.

..One in pink..

 ...One in blue....

... and one in yellow!

Just one today....

I made this recently for someone whose birthday was a couple of days ago...

...and I know she love poppies...
So, I thought this trinitage image was be very useful!
I decoupaged it and added a bit of glossy accents and some
black gems into the centre of each poppy.

Male cards inc Fathers day

I've had a busy week, and have been making some much needed male cards...

I was wrapping a friends birthday pressie the other day and had some left over wrapping paper.
I thought it would be spot on for a simple card I had in mind,
using the kraft cards I bought at Samuel Taylors in Leeds this week.
Buttons from stash, Digi sentiment, and wrapping paper!

This is a lovely Trinitage image that I bought a while ago. I made it for Hubbys Dad
as he likes this type of holiday...in little picturesque fishing villages.
I decoupaged some of the scene.

This is an image I love, from S.J.Musings   and I have used it a number
of times for different cards.
I decoupaged it and popped on two cats....
as they look very similar to the two cats my Mum and Dad have.

I found the website that lets you print off your own keep calm poster.
So I made this one and then embossed lines as though they were a continuation
of the union jack.

Just poppin by...

....to show you one I made recently for a chocoholic friend.

I used loads of digi images to make this card....and made some images
twice so I could decoupage them.
Jayne likes anything and everything chocolate...
so that's what she got!
I used purple paper behind the image to give a "Cadbury's" impression.
Also, my fab Hubby managed to find and download the "Willy Wonka" font!!

Newspaper card

I was inspired to make some "newspaper cards" from Its all Fiddle Fart
and this is my second one.
I have made more that I will show soon.

I made it a couple of weeks ago, for a colleague who was due to go on maternity last friday...
but she went and had her baby the week before!
So, I haven't seen her yet and she still hasn't seen this card!
Hahahaha... nevermind,...I will give it to her as soon as I see her.
Fingers crossed she likes it... I thought a maternity card was just a cute idea!
(she was supossed to be having a baby shower later this week... bit late now!:)  )

More baby cards

I've made another 2 cards for the new baby...

I used a Nitwits baby collection for this card...
I generated the wording directly onto the card and added the frame,
a teddy and star (decoupaged) with some glossy accents here and there.
Finished off with some simple embossing around the frame.

I thought this paper was perfect for a baby girl card...
I had used this poem once before and I think it is lovely, so used it again.
The bear is another from the Nitwits collection.
I bought the martha stewart punched borders on a bootsale last weekend, and of course,
I made use of the fanciful flourish!
x

Thanks for any comments....

I'm back!!

I've been ill recently, and then really really busy,
but I have been making a few cards for a friends new baby girl!

This card was a commission...
"Can I have the babys name, weight , d.o.b, time , and name meaning?"
Hmmm.... Took a bit of thinking, but I gave her this today...
 and she loved it!!!
xx

(Will show more cards I made for this baby, soon!)
