Sparkle all the way...

is the focal point for my card this month...

There are actually 3 baubles that come in the image, but this shaped one is my favourite.
I coloured it with my promarkers,
added a strip of paper behind the image,
with a thin slice of gold border.
After dry embossing the edge of the card, I hand stamped
the sentiment - and glittered the word "Sparkle".
(It is really difficult to photograph that part!

My first Christmas card this year!

I got this gorgeous image from Patties Creations, called
Front Door set 2024.

(I am very pleased that I managed to make a Christmas card in August!)

There are 2 images in the set but I chose to use this one for my
mum and dad's Christmas card this year.
(The other image has summertime trees in front of the door - perfect for a "new home" card.)

I used alcohol pens to colour the image so it's like my parents door.
I paper-pieced the doormat, stamped on the wording and
added a few diecuts to enhance the image.
I fussy cut around the trees added some inking around the edges,
before popping the image onto the backing paper.

Fussy-cut wreath

At Pattie's Creations this month, I have used one of her newer images...
Hummingbird floral wreath, to create this card.

I coloured the image with my promarkers and other alcohol pens,
then fussy-cut all around the image.
I added some sparkle to the hummingbird (which is hard to photograph well)
and traced a shape which I cut out of the spotty backing paper, so the #wreath would look like it is framing the spotty paper.
An inked, dry embossed edge and some punched butterflies finished this card.

Bathing beauties

One of Patties newer images is the star of the show on this card - "Bathing beauties."

I love this image - Bathing Beauties.
(There is another version of this image in her etsy store, too!)
I fussy-cut the image, after colouring with my alcohol pens and
paper-piecing the girls swimming costumes!)
I used my alcohol pens to literally "dot" on the sand
and used one of my favourite of-the-moment paper packs for the water4...
I ripped the edge carefully, to make it looks like waves coming onto the beach.
The "happy" is a diecut and the birthday has been stamped.

Anniversary

At Patties Creations this month, I have used one of her older images -
but I still love it and it is so versatile.... Seahorse love.
The image comes as two seahorses touching lips, but you could easily
just use one of them to be the main image on your card!

The papers in the background of this card,
came from  bargain paper pack I got in The Works.
It was only £2 and is all sea themed papers. A bargain!
I coloured the seahorse with my alcohol pens and printed off a sentiment.
(I made this card into an anniversary card for my husband's mum and dad.)
I added some "bubbles" on the wavy backing paper by adding
some blobs of glossy-accents, waiting for them to dry, then adding a small
white highlight, with my white Sakura pen.
I also added some white dots along the wavy lines, to add some more pattern and interest.

A Spring wreath

Pattie has been playing with my image suggestions and come up with this beauty...

It's called "Twig wreath with Spring Flowers."
I love it!
It was lovely to colour, but a little tricky to fussy-cut the middle from!
I coloured this image with my alcohol pens and popped it on 3D foam,
with a green spotty paper behind.
The sentiment was stamped and the heart is diecut,
along with the punched butterflies.

My mum's favourite things.

Pattie has some new images in her etsy shop this month!

"Kitty on books" was the one I chose for this month...

I was so excited to receive this image, as I had
suggested that Pattie creates this one!
This is the kind of image that my mum loves..as her cat and her books
are her favourite things,
so this made a card- special to her, for Mother's day.

I carefully cut a frame out of patterned paper,
popped the kitty image (coloured with my alcohol markers) in the corner and
added some heart-bubble die cuts.
The sentiment was stamped and I added a diecut butterfly.

Happy birthday!

I made this card recently, for my friends young daughter...

I made this card using lots of scraps of patterned paper.
I used my guillotine to cut the scraps into strips to represent candles.
I cut the little flame shapes and added glossy accents ontop,
and a touch of golden glitter pen.
The sentiment was stamped.
I faux-stitched around the backing paper, with my Sakura pen
and added a dry embossed line around the edge of the card to finish it off.

3 Cactus

I used a Pattie's Creations image for this card - "3 cactus in pots."

I used my alcohol markers to colour the 3 images and
fussy-cut around each one, so I could pop them into a group.
The middle cactus is on 3D foam, so it stands proud of the other two.
The sentiment is from a stamp from Kaisercrafts
and the papers have been in my stash a looong time!

Sister birthday

I used one of Pattie's new images, called
"Denim Pockets" from Pattie's Creations...

It's a great little set of two pockets. One plain. The other has a little flower design to the right.
I used both on top of each other for this card.
My sister is denim-mad,
so thought this image would be perfect for her.
I added the pretty flowery paper as it works so well with the denim,
and gives a real girly feel to the card.

The words were stamped and the butterflies were punched.
I enjoyed colouring the pockets with distress inks and a blending tool
instead of my 'normal' - colouring with alcohol pens.
I feel that the distress inks gives a good denim look.

Guest designer cards

I was invited to be a Guest Designer over at the C.R.A.F.T Challenge.

I had the pleasure of using 2 of Beccy's images from Beccy's Place..

The first card I made uses an image and sentiment from her
"Home for the holidays" set. I coloured the image with my alcohol pens and even used
glitter to colour the bow and the little berries.

The sentiment also comes in the set. I handwrote "husband"
and added the diecut cats, which I coloured to look like our two.
The heart on a bow was die-cut, as were the stars around the image.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Digi Choosday - atg - 6 Feb
Cards galore encore - atg - 1 Feb

This second card uses a freebie image from Beccy's Place.
Under the Christmas section, I found this very lovely bauble...

I coloured it using my alcohol pens and a stamped sentiment.
A embossed the edges of the card base and added a slice of leftover paper
behind the image. The bauble hangs from a little glittered line and a few
hand-drawn stars finished off the card.
I wanted to keep this clean and simple.

Holiday mittens

I used an old Patties Creations image to create this card...

There is so much sparkle on it, but it doesn't show very well on the photo.

The gold ribbon and the fluffy part of the mittens have been glittered
with ultra-fine glitter, as well as
the embossed snowflakes in the background.

I coloured the mittens with my alcohol markers
and added patterns on with my white sakura pen.
A simple line of glamour dust around the edge of the card finished it,
along with the computer generated sentiment.

A Christmas gnome / gonk

I made a Christmas card for my sister and her family
in our "anything goes challenge" this week at Pattie's Creations.
I used her image: "Reindeer the gnome"

My sister is really into gonks at the minute and this is so gonk-like,
I think she will like it.
I coloured him with my alcohol pens and fussy-cut around him carefully.
I added some glamour dust to the bob on his hat and the snowflake he's holding.
The paper is from an old DCWV stack and the sentiment was in a clear set,
gifted to me by a friend recently.
The holly, berries and snowflake under the sentiment are all diecuts. with
liquid pearls added to each of the snowflakes.

I would like to enter this into the following challneges -

A warm Christmas

I chose the lovely image: Holiday Mittens
from Patties Creations this month, for her "anything goes" challenge....

I used some papers I found in The Works
and distressed the edges with distress inks.
I coloured the image with my alcohol pens and also
I used glamour dust to "colour" the bow.
It is really sparkly in real life!
I fussy cut the image and popped it onto 3D foam to give some depth.
The sentiment was stamped, from a new set my friend bought me.

First Christmas card

I was thrilled to be asked to be a guest designer for the fabulous...

I have been working with the set called Sugar n Spice.
The great thing about this set, is that you get a really good bundle!
Images to colour, ready-coloured images, sentiments...everything you need!
This first card, I made with the uncoloured image -
I really enjoyed colouring this one myself!

I coloured the image with my promarkers and other alcohol pens,
and used the sentiment I think my mum would love.
(This card will be my Mum and Dad's Christmas card - my Mum loves to bake,
especially at Christmas)
All this image really needed, was a paper behind, to set it off.
I inked the edges and drew on some faux-stitching.
I also dry embossed a simple line around the edge of the white card.
A simple die-cut snowflake, underneath the sentiment, finished this card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I made a second card with this bundle, as I wanted to use a pre-coloured image too.
One of my friends, who lives in Canada, loves baking too.
This will be on it's way to her soon!
I coloured the image with my promarkers and other alcohol pens
and used a different sentiment from the bundle.

Caramel apples / toffee apples

At Patties Creations this challenge, I used her image,
"Caramel Apple Trio."

It's a great image to work with.
I wanted each of the apples to look like to look
like the toffee apples here, as we call them.
The centre red one is well covered with glossy accents
just like our most traditional toffee apples, here in England,
which are super crunchy and glossy with their red toffee coating.

I used promarkers and my other alcohol pens to colour the apples.
My niece's name is made of little stickers which
I recently found as I have been tidying through my craft room.

Candy corn jar

This month, at Patties Creations, I used her image
"Candy Corn Jar"
to make my Dad a birthday card -
Mum and Dad are going on holiday to Canada in a couple of months
and I thought this would help get him in the mood.
He loves candy corn!

I love Pattie's jar images...
she has a few different ones.
I coloured the image with my promarkers and other alcohol pens
and added some coordinating backing papers.
I inked the edges of all papers and diecut a fancy edge.
I finished this card with a little faux hand-stitching detail.

Anniversary cat

Hubby and I just celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary
and I made him this card...

I used a new die that I got recently (Cat in a circle)
I had to cut a slightly bigger circle myself out of the kraft card, which
was a bit tricky, but inking the edge a bit helped it look neater (Top tip!)
The die actually has a butterfly on the circle too, but
I didn't want that on this card for Hubby.
I stamped the little hearts
on a cute backing paper, and... notice there are 18!
Some, I coloured white, some black and some, I used my gold stickles on.
The 18 is die-cut from some small numbers I have.
I bought the sentiment stamps on a car boot sale and have used them on this card.
The two paw prints symbolize our 2 cats.

Hubby loved it.  😊

Have a Llama-zing birthday!

This month, I used Pattie's imge
"Linda the diva llama"
to create a friend for a friend of mine, who loves animals
and visiting the zoo with his children.

I wanted to keep this quite clean and simple for my friend.
I coloured the image with my promarkers and other alcohol pens ,using
a white jellipen to make the white fur textured lines.
I have printed out and coloured the glasses again and popped them on 3d foam
with a little glossy accents on the black, to make the glasses shine.
The sentiment was computer generated, as I printed off the llama.
I dry-embossed the edges of the white card and inked along them.

I also made another version of this card for a female friend:

Father's Day card

This month, at Pattie's Creations, I used one of her newer images:
Rope frame with seagulls and shells.

I fussy cut the middle of the image and took that away.
I carefully coloured the image with my promarkers and other alcohol pens,
before embossing the outer edge of the image and
inking along each side with a seaside-blue ink.
I cut the bunting on my diecutter and popped it onto of the papers I picked to
represent the sea and sand.
(I had ripped the edge of the blue paper, to reveal the white core (waves).A simple stamped message finished this card.

For my Dad, for Father's Day.
